I haven't seen it but have heard good things. Might just be a blind buy for me.
I have yet to hear anything negative (save for the first post here). Why didn't you like it, Mr Greenwaldt?
I will be Netflixing this one. Sandra Bullock has always been one of my favorites despite her hit-and-miss decisions for film roles.

Well, 2009 was certainly a big year for Ms. Bullock, and this movie was a big reason why. Guess I'll check it out, since I never got around to seeing it in the theater....
I will rent it, but if the extras are worthy I'll give it a buy.
Better than i thought but it wasnt groundbreaking. I think i was so relieved over the awful "all about steve" that ANYTHING sandra did would be ok with me. This avoided a lot of usual cliches but still had problems. Also the little boy in it was one of the ugliest things ever put on the silver screen.
^ Hataaaa Michael. Never got around on seeing it. Will rent on Blu for sure.
Fantastic film! I will definitely be picking up a copy.
I so can't wait for this movie on Blu-ray!! Sandra Bullock was amazing!! Day one purchase for me!!
This is still playing at our first-run theater. A lot of folks loved it and are either watching it again or recommending it to friends.
Chris Burge will be happy.
I actually enjoyed this movie. It was actually much better than Sandra Bullock's really stupid summer hit, "The Proposal."

Loved this movie. I didn't think I would since I'm not a fan of inspirational sports films, but, this was great! Well def. pick up the blu. Oh, and thanx for making it a combo pack with a standard dvd. Now I can play it anywhere.
I will buy, because this was a terrific movie. However, I DESPITE the Blu-Ray getting all of the extras, but the existence of the combo pack makes up for this.
Never got around to this one. Will rent.
I didn't like this that much. Bullock was okay in this, awards worthy? No. She definitely wasn't better than Mulligan or Sidibe this year, she didn't deserved the Globe. But this is Bullock's year and what she achieved in terms of BO Success cannot be understated.
worth a rental
This was my favorite film of 2009. Went in, knew nothing about the movie at all, and came out extremely satisfied. Sandra Bullock was just amazing. I can't wait to own this so I can watch it again and again!
loved this movie. will pickup for sure

Its a movie that I would see only once.

I'll Netflix this one. I've heard good things, but I am weary of inspirational sports movies.
I will bet that the cover will change since she won the Golden Globe, and IF she gets the Oscar for this, it will be more definite!!

This movie was completely phony. Just mainstream, cringe-worthy garbage, IMO. Easily one of the most overrated movies of the year. Entertainment-wise it’s alright, not boring or anything. It’s just not a good movie. The audience I saw it with ate it right up. I hated how everyone was laughing at all of the unbelievably grating cutesy humor involving the little boy. And I can't tell you how many times they rely on him to get a laugh. I cannot stand cutesy kids in movies, especially when they use them THIS often. What gets under my skin the most is how everyone finds it so funny. Sometimes cute kids work ( Jerry Maguire, for instance, or the absolute best example, Ponette), but here it wasn't charming (not to me at least). It was such an obvious and cheap attempt at humor.
Anyway, Sandra is just fine. I really like her as an actress, but this is not an award-worthy performance. Maybe an MTV Movie Award, but not Oscar-worthy. There are much more deserving female performances this year. For example, Carrey Mulligan ( An Education), Emily Blunt ( The Young Victoria), Zooey Deschanel ( 500 Days of Summer), Abbie Cornish ( Bright Star), Melanie Laurent ( Inglourious Basterds), Meryl Streep (She was wonderful in Julie & Julia - though she’s great in everything she does), Michelle Monaghan (for the little-seen Trucker), or even Amy Adams for Sunshine Cleaning or, don’t laugh, but Vera Farmiga or Isabelle Fuhrman for Orphan (not the kind of movie that usually gets nominated, BUT these two performances were d*mn good - at least Farmiga is getting attention for her work in the year’s best film - Up in the Air), all of whom were better than Bullock. I wouldn’t mind her being nominated, but she doesn’t deserve to win, not for this movie. Just my opinion…

I agree with almost everything you say here. And good call pointing out what true great child performances can be ("Ponette" ). That's really rare. While "The Blind Side" was clearly catered to the crowd pleasing movie going audience, complete with adorable kids, I found it far more digestable than the syrupy kids (and families) in "Dan in Real Life" and the adult children in "It's Complicated". Bottom line (for me), "The Blind Side" was a nice and harmless film, and Bullock did turn in a great performance, but she absolutely and most definitely does NOT deserve the Oscar for Best Actress. That's just crazy talk. Every actress you mentioned turned in far superior performances. And I'd like to throw Michelle Monaghan's performance in there too for "Trucker". But personally I'd like to see Streep win.

WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!!! GUIES, TIME OUT!!!!
Kyle, just because he doesn't like something doesn't mean you have to go budding in to his comment. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. No one's going to like the same exact movies you like. For instance, I know many people who don't like Pixar movies as much as I do, or Night at the Museum 2. Guess what? Do I make a big deal outta it? No. Do I make a big deal outta it because they make a big deal outta it? I'll tell 'em, look, it's just my opinion. No one's going to force you to like or dislike something just because they like it/dislike it. I see people who don't like "Finding Nemo." My dad didn't like "WALL-E." My sister didn't think Night at the Museum 2 was as good as the first. My friends don't like every movie I like, so what?
Michael - the kid, SJ, had nothing really to do with the movie. He was just trying to help Oher. I can find some cute kid movies to be annoying, like "Martian Child." I mean I like cute kid movies like "August Rush" and "Where the Wild Things Are." Yes, some people do make fun of me, but you know what - that's their loss. It's fine if you don't like movies about cute kids, guess what, not everyone's going to agree. Not everyone's going to agree with you that "The Blind Side" is a phony movie. Guess what? Many people like many different things.
And Kyle, just because he posted his opinion on something doesn't necessary mean that you have to comment on it, especially without quoting it first!
OK. Kapeesh.

Yeah, I had absolutely no problem with Kyle's comment. I'm glad to give a reason as to why I wasn't impressed. The comment I did have a problem with was the one by stevepulaski, which was just rude. I'm not allowed to say I didn't like this movie?
LOL! 'Sandra Bullock INSPIRES big sales'.
There's just something so... greedy with that sentence.
