When Bourne exposes Operation Treadstone at the end of The Bourne Ultimatum,he sparks a bonfire that threatens to burn down decades of research and development into the building of better spies and warriors. In The Bourne Legacy, audiences discover that there are actually a variety of covert intelligence programs – all of which now feel the threat of exposure. On the verge of having their conspiracy revealed, members of the government’s intelligence community will stop at nothing to erase all evidence of their top secret programs. With his life in jeopardy, agent Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner) must use his genetically-engineered skills to survive the ultimate game of cat-and-mouse and finish what Jason Bourne started.

I don't completely agree with most posters before me, the movie was not that bad.
But there's not doubt this is just studio's "product", its only reason to exist being to keep milking the franchise, and it shows.

I have never seen any of these movies so I'll pass just didn't interest me at all .
Yeh this sux, nothing to it. This series needs to end. I will avoid the next one all together. I KNEW what this would be like but gave it a chance, nada, nothing going on. U can only have a man on the run for so long, eventually it gets old. Changing actors doesnt suffice, also reducing action doesnt either but when the action does come its headache inducing.
this was the BIGGEST disappointment i've had watching a movie (this and PROMETHEUS). LEGACY was a disgrace to the BOURNE films. it's one of the most boring "action" movies i've ever seen. there was barely any action and most of the plot was basically a drug addict trying to get his next fix. i loved the superb Joan Allen who plaed Pam Landy in parts 2 & 3 and they not only completely f*ck the character over they ONLY have her in the movie at the end for a mere 20 seconds. this movie blows so hard. barely any hand to hand combat. also Renner's Cross kills innocents (the entry level type security guards) and i didn't care for what he did to the wolf. Jason Bourne wouldn't have done either. he was skilled enough to get out of these situations without killing innocents and animals. lastly this has one of the worst, most abrupt endings ever. no hyperbole here.
This was the most BORING experience I've ever had in a movie theatre. Mind numbing banlity. I can't believe this thing made as much money as it did.
The movie was OK even though it was a little underwhelming and it could have used a better ending. I know the star and director want to get Damon involved in a future sequel where the two stories would cross each other as in a new direction for the series.

Is that true?
Judging by the box office of over $230 million, around average for the series (but below the last installment), I would say no.

It was a pretty terrible movie....boring, unoriginal, uninspired. Damon is sorely missed from this franchise.

That "Watch it Anytime, Anywhere!" banner has been on the slipcovers of Universal releases since last year, it's nothing new. And that was even before Universal started adding Ultraviolet digital copies as well on top of the iTunes digital copy which is still provided.

It was alright, not as good as the Damon trilogy. Needed to lose about 15 mins in the middle (lots of redundant dialogue, bad "agent" acting during the house sequence) and have better pacing. Needed 1 more action sequence too in the middle (or a fight between the two Outcome guys in the cabin, the Drone sequence was weak and not tense at all). The chase at the end was good and the house fight was good, just needed to get to it quicker.
It's one of those films where I wish they'd over-edited it, would made a better film. I felt like there was a much better film in there, but we got the bloated cut.
