I will get the collectors edition for sure. I never bought any of the Bourne movies in the past because I knew they would release some sort of trilogy pack.
According to this press release, the 4th disc of the set is just the third disc from the Bourne Files double feature set already out! So much for exclusive features. Don't know if I should get it now. I guess I will wait and see if the box is snazzy enough of a collector's item or not.

That cover art isn't much cop but at least it's better than the UK cover art which makes the film look like Die Hard.
What's with the Combo though? Universal didn't do this for the first two. Are many people even fans of the Combo idea? I was at first but the discs are so expensive.
I hear a HD box set is coming. Any further news?

Artwork added for the HD DVD release...
This was, without question, one of the most exciting films I've seen this year. Absolutely mind-blowing. I'll defiantely get it on DVD.
I seriously cannot stand Pete Hammond's quotes.
It doesn't mean anything that Bourne is in his 50s in Legacy & Betrayal. The last two books and films have almost nothing in common so they can just use the titles of the books but have a completely different plot.

There's my Christmas present right there!
The problem with Legacy and Betrayal is that both take place when Bourne is middle-aged, specifically in his 50s, so how can Matt Damon pull off playing Jason Bourne as an old guy?

They should make the next two books, "The Bourne Legacy" and "The Bourne Betrayal" in to films too.

"Hugely Entertaining"
revised art still looks great!
I'm definitely picking up the whole collection (I only have the first release of the first film.) Can't wait for December!
Oh, and I love the artwork for the seperate release. And as much as I don't care for Pete Hammond - at least it's not Larry King.

well i was on the fence but the MAXIM quote totally sold me.
Not a DVD cover goes by without a quote by the greatest film critic of all time....Pete Hammond! Eff you Ebert, you're done with! It's time for the Hammond to step in!
What?! are you kidding me?? this is the final cover?! awful.
Now that looks like Matt Damon. I am comparing it to the R2 artwork for this. I am gonna go ahead and buy the Jason Bourne collection.
Love it. Lose the quote, though.
They should make a movie about Pete Hammond. They can call it "Pete Hammond Must Die." I'm sure he would love it and say:
"You'll stand up and cheer at this wonderfully made, triumphant film" or some happy sappy gushy boast like that...

Seriously, Pete Hammond? Ugh. Well, for once he's right.
Even with the minor tweaking on the artwork, it's still pretty lame for such a great movie.
Final artwork added...
Just saw this finally, and I feel it definitely entertained me from beginning to end. By far, the best sequel movie of this year. I enjoyed the other 'three-quals', but still felt somehow disappointed. This one had a very tight story and the performances were superb. I can't understand why people would put this down next to Bond, but, I think this is for a different crowd who is bored with Bond. I love the camera work. It is overwhelming, yet, it fits well with the movie. Overall, I definitely feel I enjoyed this film over any of the Bond movies anyday! And, I'm definitely treating myself for Christmas with that Jason Bourne boxed set!
the cover NEEDS to go.
the poster art with the back of his head was one of the best film posters i've seen. make it the cover art for Bourne's sake!

THE BOURNE IDENTITY - Was a great surprise action flick. Matt Damon was pretty decent. Enjoyable.
THE BOURNE SUPREMACY - Boring. OK. Decent.
THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM - Much better than the first two movies.
This is just a recap of what I thought of the movies so far.

The Jason Bourne Collection... no brainer! A must for Xmas!!
I hope I'm not the only one who hates these movies...I don't see what truly makes them special. Paul Greengrass to me isn't all that great of a director either.
I can't wait for the HDDVD- it will fill the void left in my life when i realized Casino Royale would only ever be on Blu-Ray.
gritty spy thrillers rule!

Just saw this. I did enjoy all 3 films a lot. I can't say I want to own them though since once you know how it turns out it won't be as exciting. I love the art for the limited set though, maybe I will get that if I could ever find it cheap.
The artwork is meh. The text placement is terrible.
There's no way the final Bourne art will be like that. I so need to see the third, supposedly amazing.

Yes it is (at least in my opinion). And at least BOURNE had a storyline, of sorts, while BOND is the same thing over, and over, and over again.

Ok, so why give such a great movie like this, such c**ppy-looking DVD artwork? Geez, people....
Compared to the limited edition artwork that single Bourne Ultimatum is lame.
that artwork is pretty ass. they should use the one with his head facing NYC.
glad they stuck with the poster-

great they used the poster for the single disc, but the placement of the text is horrible. either way I'll be getting the trilogy since I dont have the other 2 yet.

I hope the UK artwork fits better with the previous two's blue look, which sadly they didn't do for the American releases.

And 007 shouldn't have to step aside. Other than sharing the same initials, the title characters from their respective franchises almost have nothing else in common. Besides, the Bourne films are done...for now. Lest Damon and Greengrass decide to do The Bourne Legacy, I don't think we will see another Bourne movie (from them, anyway, no telling what the studio would do if they push for that film to be done).
As for Daniel Craig as James Bond, I am looking forward to more 007 sequels. I hate James Bond, but Casino Royale made me a fan of that one ONLY.
I do agree with the USA Today, though, when they call Jason Bourne the "anti-Bond."

This whole Bond vs. Bourne thing is tiresome, cooked up by studio execs, likely, to generate publicity for the Bourne series. The two series are so different, they barely even rate comparison. As CASINO ROYALE made close to $600M worldwide (more than any Bourne film made), I seriously doubt we'll be seeing 007 'step aside' any time soon.

I was watching 40 year old virgin the other night and I thought that quote was brilliant. I'll definately be buying Ultimate, best movie I've seen all summer.

This was probably THE best of the 'threequal' movies this summer, even better than Pirates 3 or Spider-Man 3. I could watch this over and over if I wanted a pure adrenaline rush.
But where's the actual artwork for 'The Bourne Ultimatum'? I could care less about the art for the three in one collection.

I'll probably just get Ulitmatum as I have the other two. Awesome set though.
Depends on the price. I've been putting off buying these wonderful movies for a long time, and if the price is good on this collection I'll get it.
Well, good thing I didn't pick up the Bourne Files! Now I can get this set without feeling like c**p!
The Ultimatum was superb. I'll get the day of release. I'd rate the bourne films like so...
1. Ultimatum
2. Identity
3. Supremacy

3. Supremacy

Here's my opinion, I liked Identity. Supremacy was ok. Ultimatum was the best.

Nothing like a Bourne movie on DVD in time for Christmas.
How come Universal is not going 2-disc on all three Bournes?
That's actually a really badass case.
I MIGHT have to consider getting it IF they retain all features from privious Bourne DVDs (including the DTS track from the original), have some ass-kicking video and audio, and maybe have as an easter egg that Jimmy Kimmel sketch where Matt Damon beats Guillermo up.

I'm tempted to buy this, but I'm quite sure that one day we'll see 2-disc special editons for these movies. The Bourne Trilogy deserves 2-disc versions.

Why? Except for the Assassin aspect they're entirely different films, in every way really. The link is so weak you can barely compare them.
You're going to dismiss over 40 years of cinema over 3 films which is now even over. I wish people would stop comparing them when there is barely anything to even compare.
Take "From Russia with Love" for example, an cold war excellent espionage thriller in it's own right. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Bourne films.
As I've already said the Bourne films are excellent but that doesn't immediately mean we should forget where Ludlam got much of the inspiration from or the quality of the Bond films.
Bond was kicking ass before Bourne was even in nappies and Bond will continue to do so long after Bourne is a distant movie memory.
Karl wrote: I wonder if The Bourne Ultimatum is a 2-disc version or are they including the bonus disc form The Bourne Files boxset.
I'm guessing it will be an "extras" disc with the extras found on the Bourne Files box set with some more featurettes thrown in. I don't see any of the films getting 2 disc releases. I would guess Greengrass and Liman aren't interested.
I just hope Greengrass records a commentary this time. Supremacy doesn't even have one.

Already have Identity and Supremacy so I'll just be picking up the Ultimatum and not the Bourne collection.
SWEET-OLA!!...that's one purty set!
I am not overly concerned with special features, so I'll probably only pick up the solo release of Ultimatum, since I already have the first two. Great movie - saw it twice in the theater and, unlike Spidey 3, held up really well on the second viewing.
I will defintly pick this one up,(the box set) im not a big Matt Damon fan, but all three films rocked..Steve Sky 67
Finally...been waiting forever for a proper boxed set.
It's the boxset for me considering I don't own the first two.
I thought "The Bourne Ultimatum" was the best one. The action sequences were really good, but a few of them that run for so long get pretty boring.
As long the box set is in HD I'm there
Sweet, I came close to buying the Bourne Files released this year, but I held out for this.
Ultimatum is the best movie of the year.
I've not seen ultimatum yet, but i preferred identity to supremacy, the 1st film came across like a decent spy film, whereas the 2nd one struck me as just an action film
BLEH
I just can't beleive Matt Damon kicking peoples asses. He is the biggest wus. These movies just don't work for me, But OH WELL that's just my opinion. We all like what we like.

4 disc set? so each movie is only 1 disc? wow...considering how popular and blockbuster-ish they've been, i figured they'd get the full 2 disc treatment...damn

Hmmm...I already own the first two, but I don't have the second version of Identity, and I'm guessing that this collection will, so I'll probably buy this and probably give my other two movies to my sister for Christmas.
I wonder if The Bourne Ultimatum is a 2-disc version or are they including the bonus disc form The Bourne Files boxset.
The Bourne Files boxset bonus disc includes:
1)Sneak Peek of The Bourne Ultimatum
2)45-minutes of new exclusive features allowing you to discover the origins of Jason Bourne and the people who brought him to life:
-Who Was Robert Ludlum?
-The Ludlum Supremacy
-The Ludlum Ultimatum

Wow, awesome! I will definitely be getting this.
I own Identity (Explosive Edition) and Supremacy, but I'm moving from my country and I will leave those DVDs to my dad (he loves them), so I can definitely see myself buying this set.
Good timing too, cause I was planning to buy the Bourne Files set.
One thing though....I wonder if the Identity disc on this set is the same as the one on the Bourne Files set, you know, because it combines the short making-of and commentary from the first Identity DVD with the new featurettes from the "Explosive" edition.
I sure hope so

I didn't buy the so called Special Edition as it removed the director's commentary and DTS but isn't the extended cut is the theatrical cut with badly placed deleted scenes on either end? I heard something about deleted scenes to tie the film in with 9/11, which thankfully they decided was a bad idea.
All the releases featuring Identity since SE have been the same SE DVD so it's likely, the HD-DVD isn't though but it does have the deleted scenes as deleted scenes.
Personally it sounds like a cash in to me and not a proper extended cut. The Theatrical Cut is the Director's Cut for too.

Damn! Why did I buy the first two.... Such a great trilogy cover.... Guess I'm going to own 2 copies of Identity & Supremacy... Maybe I'll sell them to blockbuster and get $10 off this pack...
THANK YOU!
A box set with all the movies wrapped up all nice and neat in a nifty package so the whole saga can be enjoyed and purchased without the life being sucked out of my wallet many times over.
Very good news indeed.

As far as sequels go, the Bourne films have never aimed at failure, infact it is because of Greengrass that we get a better film everytime he directs.
I held off buying any of the Bourne movies 'cause I knew they'd put some kind of package like this together. Now I'm just hoping there will be decent bonus features. (Also, d'ya think this will have the extended cut of Identity on it?)

And honestly, who the hell bought that Bourne Files set(no offense to you, btw, Slave2Horror) knowing full well they were making a third film and a trilogy box set was inevitable?
Um, I did. It was only $10 at Best Buy so I decided why not. I didn't care. I just hope there's gonna be an HD DVD box-set of all three movies so I can pick em up on that. The packaging of The Bourne Files was horrible. It doesn't even have a label on the spine.

Very cool box set, I wished more studios would do more movie sets like that.

Me too, although an element of it being that I was expecting it this time. The fight in Supremacy is awesome!
Identity is a good film but Supremacy and Ultimatum are great films. The pace is definitely slower in Identity, even if thankfully the 3 films still connect together very well. It could've gone all wrong and Identity feeling very different but thankfully that's not the case.
As for the box set it looks like a cash in to me. I'd be surprised if the fourth disc offers anything valuable.
I'll be picking up all 3 on HD-DVD though for sure.

Wasn't it a given? Cheeky but a given.

A great trilogy. These got progressively better as they went along. Ultimatum is my second favorite film of the summer.
I already own the first two, but I'll get the boxed set for my dad for Christmas and just pick up Ultimatum for myself. That boxed set looks really cool. I do hope they use the image on the Home page to this site as the cover art, too.

I handled the fight scene in Ultimatum just fine. It's Supremacy that lost me camera-wise. Greengrass improved ten-fold between sequels.

Other way around for me! Personally I thought Identity had average written all over it, whereas Greengrass brought a bit of life to parts two and three. Admittedly he does go a bit over the top now and again though - the fight scene in the 3rd is rediculously hard to see whats going on!

The Bourne Ultimatum rocked! I'm definitely getting that one.
The Bourne Files box seems neat, too bad I already got The Bourne Supremacy and that Identity was far less then stellar.
