I liked the idea: a World War II film from a child's perspective. We do not see the trenches or military action (Saving Private Ryan did it wonderfully), but the horrors are ever more present, searching for a new POV to tell the story. And what a story this turned out to be. The ending left me completely depressed for half a day after the credits rolled. Will pick it up certainly.
