The Burning (US - BD RA)
Shout! Factory has revealed the key art for their upcoming Blu-ray release...
Title: The Burning (IMDb)
Starring: Brian Matthews
SRP: TBD
Further Details:
Shout! Factory has revealed the key art for their upcoming Blu-ray/DVD Combo Collector's Edition release of The Burning. As with other titles in their Scream Factory line of discs, this one will include the original artwork on the reverse side of the cover. Street date and extras have yet to be announced, but based on their current release schedule you can probably expect this one to hit in the May/June time frame with plenty of added features. More to come on this '80s slasher favorite at a later date...

Really? Nowadays people seem to complain about everything or simply criticize just because they can. I love Shout/Scream Factory because you can see the amount of work and effort they put into their releases, even with the simple things like putting the original poster yet still giving you the option of the newly commissioned artwork. Just look at their releases so far, these films have finally been given the deluxe treatment they deserved. Besides, much like Matt said it all comes down to they're licensing contract. Scream factory in their Facebook page have said numerous times that due to they're licensing contracts all of their releases are region locked and if it were up to them they would sell them worldwide.
That being said, why don't you just buy a region free blu ray player? I mean they're cheap and quite useful.
Yes.

A slight cut above the original Friday the 13th film (where this film's inspiration grew from and the endless comparisons such as a camp setting, fornication, and the body count), however this film is nothing special. I personally don't get the praise this film gets. It didn't bring anything new to the slasher table (albeit the killer was somewhat interesting). If you must see it, rent the BD. But I agree with iconoclast, the raft scene will go down as one of the best scenes in any horror film, like... ever.
One of the best of the 80's! Can't wait to pick this up!
best mass killing on a raft scene ever!

You can't really fault them for it though. For some of their titles it may be a matter of a contract covering worldwide licensing and distribution not being economically feasible to them as a smaller distributor. I'm sure they'd love to sell their stuff worldwide, but if the logistics aren't there and the numbers don't add up to a profit there's no way they could and stay in business. For other titles it isn't possible because different companies hold the rights in different territories, as in the case of They Live with Universal holding the rights in the US and Studio Canal the UK.
