What a crock of Sh*t! Give me a season boxset!!
And I take it this is Blu as well?
And I take it this is Blu as well?
$20 for four episodes?!?! How about lowering it to $10 if it must only be 4 episodes??
No, don't think so, full season or no sale
C'mon...you know Uncle George has to milk this franchise for another 30 years...and yeah not worth a spit to purchase for $20 bucks when it's only 4 episodes. Season box set only on Blu for me!!!
Coming from a lifelong and die hard Star Wars nerd who's drank the Lucas Kool-Aid for years, this show ain't all that great, it's got some fun stuff in it, but I won't have an aneurysm if I never see it again.
$20 for 4 episodes is a complete and total joke and an insult. Considering that there are a total of 100 episodes of this series planned, that would be over $500 to get the entire season if they stick to this model.
George...SHOVE IT!

Star Wars: Mass Consumption of Geeks.
George you bore me. The fan puppet is the puppet master.

Keep me posted when the entire season(s) boxset(s) are available. Thank you!!
I haven't seen the show yet. I'll probably wait for the season box set.

well considering that "movie" from this summer was just 4 episodes for 20$, its not exactly a surprise. lol
as for the 100 episodes....i remember reading 1 or 2 years ago that they were already halfway there. so imagine the fancy box set when they comes out as a full series...ooo.
i do agree with someone who said it isnt that great, but it has pretty good animation for tv and hearing and seeing all those star wars weapons and sound effects just brings out the kid in me. lol

I have 2 Disc version of the film and I've DVR'ed all the shows up until 'Bombad Jedi' (the last one shown in Canada) and those should tied me over until a S1 boxed set comes out.
They should rename this Star Wars: The Clone Wars - A Fanbase Divided. (lol)
Maybe I'll rent it.
But yeah...being a die-hard SW, and a fan of the PT...I am not liking Clone Wars all that much. It's not bad...some episodes are decent, others suck...but the 'magic' is gone. Even the half-power magic of the PT. I just don't care any more. I certainly won't be buying the show in 84-minute chunks or whatever.
Will it at least be framed correctly? The TV airings are cropped down to 1.78:1, but the show is composed in 2.40:1 or 2.35:1 (same diff).

I bought the movie. I will not buy the show until the season set comes out, even if that means it'll never come out.
Not sure if any of you read the announcement on StarWars.com (judging by your responses, I'm guessing not), but they come right out and say the first season's boxset is coming out this year too- even on bluray.
The article is quoted as saying this release is for the kids and families that can't wait to rewatch their favorite episodes, and a second volume will be out this summer. Followed by a season one box set with extensive special features that are in production now.
So shuddup!

I can't get into this show, and I'm a prequel fan. Pass.
I'm going to wait for the entire series, eventhough I bought the re-release of the pre-quals and original trilogy on dvd ..again...I wait for the whole series on this....not in a big rush to get this on dvd, and besdies, you can watch them on the CN ..for free...
Let me reiterate what many of my fellow posters have stated.
Entire Season or Series or No Sale.
Sorry, George I'd rather go that route than to have drawn out. I'd like sit down and watch the episodes from start to finish without interuptions.
Otherwise, this is a very cool series and would fit very nicely in the Star Wars DVD collection.

I really enjoy this show, but I agree with everyone here and I am going to wait for a season set, hopefully on blu-ray. I don't know if this is Lucas' doing or if it's WBs and I really don't care, but I find it unacceptable in today's market that this doesn't get a season collection off the bat.
As has been said by many, I'm a die-hard "Star Wars" fan, and jeez, I even enjoy this show well enough. But no way in hell am I going to buy it in anything but a season boxset.
Haven't seen any of the series besides the film. I will most likely buy the box set on Blu this summer to appease my near-revived Star Wars geek within me.
No sale.
It's simply not worth buying sets with only a handful of episodes in them. We didn't bother buying the vanilla Doctor Who releases because there was the obligatory box-set looming.
Clone Wars really is a mixed bag - for every great episode (there ARE one or two), there are two or three mediocre ones and at least one poor one.
When it gets it right, Clone Wars really feels at home in the Star Wars canon, but when it doesn't get it right, it can occasionally be painful to watch. There are far too many hamfisted dialogue references to the Original Trilogy - this was the case in Tartovsky's Clone Wars series, but is done to a much higher degree in Lucas' series.
It's tempting to wait and see if a definitive box-set appears (preferably on Blu-Ray), but while the series is fun, there probably isn't much re-watch value to it.

We all got a little ahead of ourselves...
The big title news today is that Warner and Lucasfilm have officially announced the DVD release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars - A Galaxy Divided on 3/24 (SRP $19.98). Here's the bad news: It's only a "best of" disc, offering just four key episodes (Ambush, Rising Malevolence, Shadow of Malevolence and Destroy Malevolence). But don't fret, 'cause here's the good news: Lucasfilm has confirmed that a complete season DVD box set is coming later in 2009, and (the best news) it will be released on Blu-ray Disc as well. Here's the relevant text from Star Wars.com:
"Meanwhile, for fans eager to own the entire first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Lucasfilm is in the midst of producing a multi-disc boxed set that is expected to debut later in 2009. Full details of the first-season DVD boxed set, which is also planned to mark the first Blu-Ray appearance of the series, will be announced later this year. The collection will include substantial bonus material that is currently in production at Lucasfilm, including explorations of the behind-the-scenes creation of the hit series."

Thank you!!! Geez...everybody gets their panties in a bunch for no reason.
I'd buy these small releases just for the cool cover-art. but if there's a full season set coming out, I guess I'll wait.
I've had all these episodes on DVR, but my DVRs keep going bad. Damned refurbed units. The fact is that CN re-runs these episodes in roughly 2.20:1 and I record them that way.
