Warner Home Video has announced a Blu-ray release of The Color Purple for January 25th. Retail will be around $34.99. We have no word on extra material, but the release will include a 40-page book with photos, production notes, and more.

I haven't seen either films, but am looking forwards to seeing them. I hope the PQ on Malcolm X is good, as it's quite a long film.

One of Spielberg's great early forays into drama & still one of his best films. I still can't believe this didn't win any Oscars. Definitley grab this on blu-ray.
