The Complete Matrix Trilogy (UK - BD)
Warner has announced the UK release of a complete trilogy collection on BD...
Title: The Complete Matrix Trilogy (IMDb: 1, 2, 3)
Starring: Keanu Reeves
Released: 17th November 2008
SRP: £49.99
Further Details:
Warner Home Video has announced the long-delayed Blu-ray release of The Complete Matrix Trilogy for the 17th of November, priced at around £49.99. Full details have yet to emerge, but it's likely that this will be a carbon copy of the HD DVD release. That means 2.40:1 widescreen transfers (1080p), Dolby TrueHD 5.1 audio and BonusView PiP commentaries. Here's the artwork.

How about some new CUTS instead of the same chit you can watch on regular DVD. Stupid double and triple dips and not even new extended versions. What a waste. Va fongul.

Christ what are you on about now? Your Prom Night post was bad enough. They've never been released on Blu-ray before, so how is that a 'double dip'? Try and put some thought into your posts FFS.
And yes, I missed a zero out when typing 1080p. I've corrected it. You Dutch are easily amused

Quote: Curiously, Warner also lists the individual films in the series on their press site separately, but there's no concrete word on individual releases at this time. We'll bring oyu more details as they emerge.
That would be awesome, about time! The sequels suck.

It'd be nice to get each movie separately. I have little interest in The Animatrix and no longer have the patience to sit through hours of extras.
Yes, I know the sequels are not perfect movies, but they are visually amazing (if nothing else) and would look superb on Blu-ray.

could be wrong here but i think you dont have to worry about animatrix and hours of extras. they call this the "trilogy", i think this is simply the 3 movies together without those extra 4 or 5 discs of extras. the full on multiple disc collection is called "the ultimate matrix collection" so thats why i think this is simply the movies, proabbly in their 2 disc version but yeah.

It's the movies plus revisted extras but not the other extras discs. That's the Ultimate box set, which we're not getting.
I'll hang on to the HD DVD set with this one.
It is likely that I will import the USA Blu Ray boxset. The first Matrix film suffered BBFC cuts to get a 15 certificate on DVD. I'm hoping Warner Bros (plus Paramount) stick to releasing "multi-region" Blu Ray titles.
That was only the original DVD. It's completely uncut in later sets and also on HD DVD and Blu-ray.

Anybody using the phrase 'Double Dip' should be soundly and repeatedly beaten around the head with a re-release version of Alexander. The most annoying and overused phrase in home entertainment terminology.

Thank you Leigh! Someone else who hates it as much as me. I can't write it without the use of quotation marks.
Glad to hear that the UK version is "uncut". I will still import the USA Blu Ray boxset (unless Warner Bros. suddenly decides to adopt region coding - which I would hate).

The annoying thing is, this set isn't even a 'double dip', it's the first showing of the set on a completely different disc format. Which makes LostCity as oblivious as he is ignorant. Oh, and apparently it also makes him banned... shame. Looks like he'll have to re-register to post on the site again, which means HE will become a 'double dip' himself. The irony...
In all seriousness, it's nice to have this on BD, but i can't believe Warner STILL fail to give the Matrix trilogy DTS tracks. The car chase in 2 is begging for one.

Try 'triple dip', he was already banned when he registered as LostCity.
DTS isn't an issue when TrueHD is on the disc. It's theoretically indistinguishable from the studio master. I have the set on HD DVD, but I haven't watched it yet. Not had the time what with all the quality discs I have to review for this site

I can imagine. I'm sure Meet The Saprtans really filled in the viewing gaps. I'm sure better quality stuff is coming up for review... wait, what's that parcel hitting your doormat... its SUPERHERO MOVIE ON BD!!! Deep joy.

Don't joke...
