This movie and WALL-E were two of the summer's greatest films and the best summer popcorn flicks.

Getting the Blu-ray, that's all I gotta say. Loving the artwork. It's all great. I've seen it only twice in theaters. Once in IMAX and once at the theater I work at (which only has digital projection, but still looked good).

Before "Dark Knight" came out, cinematographer Wally Pfister and director Chris Nolan discouraged people to not see the digital projection showings because they dub it "muddy" and not detailed enough for 2K projectors (they wanted people to see the 4K resolution of regular film and that there were hardly any digital projectors that projected in 4K).
It seemed perfectly crisp and beautiful to me. I hope Pfister and Nolan supervised the DVD transfer for TDK as they did for the Blu-ray release. DVD is still the biggest part of the home video market, as Blu is still a growing niche market for now.

I'm just gonna buy the 1-disc DVD for now, seeing as it's inevitable that there'll be a double dip 6 months down the road.
6 episodes of Gotham Tonight? so are these like full on 20-25mins episodes or just snippets or what?
and as cool as the bat-pod is, i dont like the disc storage. i thought it was simply gonna be the regular case inside a box with the bat-pod, that i would have gotten.
anyway i like the blu-ray covers, its not often a slipcover isnt simply the same as the disc case so kudos. seems to have a good amount of extras too.
and i love how they kept that "joker screwing around" style for the back art. i wonder what the two scratched words are in the movie description. and its cute how batman is circled and connected to vigilante. lol
"includes action packed imax framed sequences"
i guess that means it'll do like the imax theaters and those scenes will get slightly bigger? thats pretty neat.

I will be buying both the Batpod Limited Edition and the regular 2-Disc Blu-ray, for collector and viewing purposes, respectively. Yes, I know, I'm absolutely nucking futz......

WTF Blu-ray artwork is out before SD artwork I think this means Blu-ray is now slowly taking over SD too and soon will take its place.

I prefer those covers to the ones posted here. Personally, I'm hoping somehwere has a steelbook of one of these two posters:
Teaser Poster A
Teaser Poster B

its all good getting a Blu-ray player in a month or so, so I'll be right there laughing with you soon and this just might be my first Blu-ray buy. And will also continue to buy movies on SD mainly because of packing and exclusives such as Steelbook ect.

Wonder what kinda exclusives BestBuy, FYE, Target, etc will have?
And it goes without saying, best film of the year, will buy as soon as humanly possible!!!
maybe target will have an exclusive cover just like with Spiderman 3

WB obviously really love that batpod image... it was used on many of the promo tickets here in australia. i agree that the burning bat symbol poster would have been much nicer, but can't complain about what we've got. the inner cover not matching the slipcase is a plus too.
hmm, just found this:

problem is, we haven't seen the 1-disc art, which i can almost guarantee will feature the flaming bat symbol poster.

Awesome Film! My favorite of the year. Blu-Ray LE it is!
Sweet.
I was at a WB event for this Wednesday and for a short time had it in my grubby little hands. Muahahahaha!
I dug the simple bat logo covers for the special editions of the original 4 movies for R2. That said- I'm ok with this cover. Would have preferred the flaming symbol but this is fine. I'm alright with the Joker being on the front of the cover too as long as their is a Batman slipcover over top. After all, the movie is still called The Dark Knight and not The Joker.
The best movie of the year a must for me 2-disc bluray i was hoping for an uncut version but anything will do with this masterpiece
A must own! I'll be picking up the gift set for sure!
No deleted scenes? COME ON!!!!!!!!!! No tribute to ledger?
The Joker cover is pure BADASSNESS!!!
I always get the best thing possible but in this rare case, The Joker cover is gonna have to do.

Liked the film (loved Heath Ledger's performance), didn't love it. Somewhat overrated.
No price for the limited edition please ? ^^
Thanks
Thanks
I'm glad the Bluray is keeping the IMAX framing for those scenes shot in that format. The flow back and forth between the IMAX and 2.4:1 ratios is so seamless and not jarring at all.
In regards to the covers, I liked the burning bat/building design for the slip cover better. The Joker disc case cover is awesome.

I feel like Gotham Tonight...

These will just be the 6 episodes released online during Warner's elaborate marketing campaign. They run up to about 10+ minutes each, with people like Arron Echhart in character, smartly introducing the uninitiated to the central people in the story.
They kept promising an interview with Gordon, but it looks like they thought without Gary Oldman telling them to stick it...

'cept that's how Batman talks. established in the comics and everything. I was very happy to hear it.
It's how he makes sure no one recognizes even his voice when 'in character' as Batman (as Bruce Wayne, I mean, not as Bale

Haven't bought a DVD in a long time, the 2-disc will be mine.
