Great artwork!
Haven't seen it but definite blind buy for me. Looks like my kind of movie. I agree, sticking with the poster art is a smart choice, great DVD artwork.
Loved this. Amazing cinematography, how about a blu ray release?
Speaking of more coincidence, I happened to see a torrented version of this that has been flowing online for some months now. Though i need to burn it, i still need to see it. I've glanzed through the film and it does look interesting and profound.
IAM GLAD they kept the artwork.plus, the extras sound very good to me.i find it hard to believe the UK release will be better now.
Love the artwork, love the movie, probably my favorite of the year too. I, too wish there would be a Blu-ray release, but I'll still buy it no matter what format.
This should have been an OSCAR for Janusz Kaminski - the work of camera is just perfect in this film.
The TRUE best Foreign film of 2007!
Will definitely rent this!
Yeah definitely one of 07's best. Thank god they kept the poster art.
I am definitely gonna be going broke in April (but I guess since There Will Be Blood's HD release was canceled I'll be about $30 richer, for now) with all these movies coming out.

Damn right. I adored this film, really moved me in the theater.

This was definitely a great experimental approach to doing the story. It was a terrific film. Having most of the film be in POV shots was an amazing way to have the audience feel in a way as frozen as Bauby was.
The film reminds me of The Sea Inside, which I thought was a better film even though this was was nearly amazing.

This came out in the UK in 2008 and is without a doubt the best film of 2008 IMO... It has set the bar for overall quality so high, it's going to take a very special film to knock this off my fave film of 2008 slot (and yes I know, it's only March!)
Also, that artwork is gorgeous - just a shame about that 'winner of' in the corner!

Quote: Jean-Dominique Bauby (Mathieu Almaric) was felled at the age of 43 by a massive stroke that left his body almost completely paralyzed but his mind intact—what doctors call “locked in syndrome.” In a heartbeat, he went from the well-known editor of a top magazine to a prisoner in his own ruined body, able only to blink his left eye. Remarkably, Bauby was able to use that eye to dictate a memoir to his dedicated speech therapist (Marie-Josee Croze)—one letter at time. Director Julian Schnabel, screenwriter Ronald Harwood and cinematographer Janusz Kaminski translate Bauby’s memories and extraordinary inner life into a visually astonishing and emotionally wrenching saga in The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Bauby’s interior chronicle – his memories, fantasies, pain and spiritual triumph - are eloquently brought to the screen in this unforgettable film.
