FINALLY!!! One of the greatest trilogies of all-time on Blu. I cannot wait to pick this set up.
Hmm....I might buy that on Blu-ray. I own the previous collection, but I don't know if I feel like upgrading at the moment. Very cool that they're getting it out though.
Been waiting for this, can't wait to get the BRD set and I'm glad the release isn't too far off.
Ugh, as usual, cue the Godfather III bashing I guess...

Great news! This was one anticipated Blu-ray title that needed a release.
I dont really like that tagline they've provided on the cover: "Includes all three (amazing) films"
They are really over doing it.

Fantastic News! The BD Release can be the best release for the decade, simply can't wait!
NICE!!! I don't own any of these movies yet, so HOORAY!
And that art is AWESOME. Simple, but powerful.

just bought the DVD edition...the picture and sound realy does impress...
Blu for me!
I was planning on getting the Godfather DVD Collection, but I'm glad I didn't. The fact this contains restored films, all the special features from the prior release, plus another bonus disc of new special features makes it a definite pick-up for me.
Blu for me too, but that MSRP Ouch! Should go for about $80 for 3 films. I'll wait for a sale, but this is a big announcement and should sell some blu-ray players.
haha.
you gotta be kidding me.
i just bought the original release set.
ah.
oh well.
im a sucker for double dipping.

Don Corleone: I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse.
Peter Clemenza: Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

$120?! Pffft! You gotta be kidding me! Hopefully there will be a substanial discount on the release day. I am NOT paying over $70-$80 for this, no matter how much I enjoy these films! I got an idea... how about you keep Godfather III and I'll give you $50?
Ahh, an offer no one can refuse. I was hoping for the Trilogy all edited together like they did for VHS..oh well, this will due.
I didn't get the last release so i'm going to get this
considering the space blu-ray offers...will this be the first time where all 3 movies are available as they were meant, as one movie and not split in half?
I have the new RC2 box set and "The Godfather, Part 2" is now on only one disc. Unfortunately the compression suffers from this.
Still don't have a blu-ray player but I'll be getting this on DVD anyway cause they're just great classics and to see them restored will be great. I'll probably triple dip on this when I eventually get a blu-ray player anyway lol.
An offer you can't refuse on Blu-ray! For me, The Godfather Blu-ray set is a definite day 1 purchase on all counts!!
Movies made in the 70's and one in the 90's and you think they're gunna look that much better on blu-ray? You're outta your minds. The studios welcome suckas like you to re-buy their flix.
Glad I waited all this time before pulling the trigger....
Due to that stellar artwork... I may just have to ditch my VHS copies for this
I already have the trilogy on DVD, so I'll not buyit after all, thought it look fantastic from the outside, and I'm pretty sure that it will look fantastic from the inside too.

That's a misconception - Doesn't matter if the film is from the 70's or the 80's - depending on the way it was shot and thus when done properly on HD it can have significant improvements compare to SD DVD
There has already been many example of old films on Blu-Ray and HD DVD that has demonstrated a much superior PQ than SD DVD, i.e. Casablanca, Blade Runner, Bonnie & Clyde, Patton etc.
Here is Xylon's comparison of Patton BD vs SD
"Despicable" Patton comparison *PIX*
It's very clear here that the PQ on BD is far more superior than SD and this film was from the early 70's. So I see no reason why The Godfather could not look great on BD.

I'll definitely be getting the Blu-Ray.
Now, all I need is a Blu-Ray player.
And an HDTV.
Damn it.

if Weird Science can look so amazing in HD, i dont see why older movies that are considered classics wouldnt get the same treatment. lol
