2-Disc Extended Edition? Does the UK get the original film version and the rest of the world not yet?

so the BD will also be EXTENDED ?
Only worth watching for the Polar Bear fight, otherwise underwhelming. The little girl that plays Lyra is a fantastic actress though.
I actually enjoyed it a lot. It did feel like it was missing an ending (which it was, as it was cut and saved to start a second film). Maybe that will be in this extended version?
Region 1 will be getting a DTS-ES soundtrack - not sure about the Region 2UK.
wait, so R2 is getting the extended edition but not R1...?
Everybody chill.
The post has been up for 2 days. If Chris had any more official info I'm sure he'd have posted it in that time.
The cover art might be a mistake (from EIV) or it might be correct. The specs don't list the extended version as of yet. The R1 artwork might need updating to indicate an extended edition. Just be patient.
In the words of Jimmy Malone, "Don't wait for it to happen, don't even want it to happen. Just wait and see what does happen".

I'd be extremely surprised at an extended edition at this point when New Line would do better by shoveling out a 1 & 2 disc now then an extended edition 6 months down the line (or for Xmas) as we all expect them to do.
Plus, if it's any indicator at all, this close to it's release date, the BBFC doesn't show any extended version of the film at this point, just the theatrical and the sum total of the extras.
