Warner Home Video has announced DVD ($33.92) and Blu-ray ($35.99) editions of The Hangover: Extreme Edition for October 12th. Each will include the theatrical cut (99 mins) as well as a new 108 minute unrated cut. The rest of the details are still sketchy I'm afraid, although each edition will include a 28-page book which contains even more incriminating photos. The Blu-ray release will also include an exclusive soundtrack sampler. We've attached a trade advertisement with some early art below:

Rather give me the 'true' comedy of 2009 on Bluray - In The Loop, instead of another pointless re-issue of a mediocre comedy. Yes, I said it, mediocre.

The only reason for anyone to buy this is if they haven't already picked up the original edition.

Not gonna disagree with you there. I liked Hangover but it is incredibly overrated. In the Loop was brilliant though. I'd also put Funny People up there.

I, for one, am upgrading the copy that I have. By the way, I've seen "In the Loop" and man, watching an work-related injury is more watchable than that boring piece of tripe. As for "Funny People", I saw that too when it made its HBO debut a week ago and it just SUCKS. Period. Yes, I said THAT. I learned a lesson those nights when the movies aired: never, ever, ever, ever listen to film critics again.
Especially film critics with taste.

I just bought the Blu-ray last week. I won't be getting this.
If they up the special features, and that's one big IF, I may consider this one for a rental. Warner doesn't live up to "great special features" in many titles it seems.
Hot Tub Time Machine was better.
I like this cover art much better than the original blu-ray one, but I don't think I need to spend another 25 bucks for this.

well that was a quick Double Dip.
and they're still pimping the baby on the cover as if its some major plot point. the baby was all over the original release and theatrical posters, lots of the tv ads showed it....imagine my surprise when i finally saw the movie recently and the baby has maybe 10mins of screentime.
i guess they just wanted to look cute or something. lol anyway as EVERY other comedy that "everyone" praises, this wasn't that great. yes it was funny and worth a watch and/or rental but not even close to being HILARIOUS OMG. LOL

Not the greatest movie. Zach G and Bradley Cooper are charming though. But the premiss(sp?) is better than the final product. The end montage was great in the theatre though, Everyone just exploded with laughter.

In the Loop should've made 500 mil worldwide, instead of this.
For raunchy, guy-oriented fun, Hot Tub Time Machine gave me far more bang for my buck.
If you cut out Zach G, this movie would pretty much totally suck.

Can't help it if I like my comedies with a side of intelligent satire or emotionally well-developed characters. The Hangover isn't bad, but at its most thoughtful level its nothing more than dumb mindless fun. Sometimes there is nothing wrong with that, but I find comedies that bring more to the table are far more memorable. And well... I will avoid the rant that I want to type regarding your anti-critic logic. I'll just say that the Hangover did well with critics. Better than Funny People.

In the Loop was, without question, both the best movie I saw last year and the funniest film I have seen in many years. I enjoyed The Hangover very much, but I have to agree with anyone that says it's overrated.

Yeh this was far from great, but it was entertaining. Funniest movie of the year or decade? FARRRRRR from it. They need to include some of the cut scenes from the ads and trailers or the alternate takes. There was an extended elevator scene and the scene where they talk to the doctor allen comments on the nude old man, asking if his are going to look like that some day
I actually never bought this movie. I rented it a couple of times and I will definitely get this edition.
Agreed with most people here, In the Loop is an excellent, well crafted and sophisticated comedy. On the other hand, The Hangover is pretty entertaining, but that's pretty much it.
Extreme Edition? What is this, Terminator 2? And I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks Hot Tub Time Machine was better than this
I may pick this up on Blu when it gets cheap. Also, for those of you saying not to listen to film critics...um, they praised this movie, and hated Funny People.
I actually ended up enjoying it. The ending sucked, however.

Hangover got 78% fresh, Funny People 67% fresh (RottenTomatoes) - that's a very thin line you define on hating and praising something.
