The Hangover (US - DVD R1 | BD)
Warner Home Video has announced a new Extreme Edition of the hit comedy
Title: The Hangover (IMDb)
Starring: Bradley Cooper
Released: 12th October 2010
SRP: $33.92 (DVD)
Further Details:
Warner Home Video has announced DVD ($33.92) and Blu-ray ($35.99) editions of The Hangover: Extreme Edition for October 12th. Each will include the theatrical cut (99 mins) as well as a new 108 minute unrated cut. The rest of the details are still sketchy I'm afraid, although each edition will include a 28-page book which contains even more incriminating photos. The Blu-ray release will also include an exclusive soundtrack sampler. We've attached a trade advertisement with some early art below:

might pick this up considering I haven't already, was actually waiting for this to happen just didn't think it would be so soon. I would say this and HTTM were about equal, so I guess this means I don't have too long to wait for an (uhg) "extreme" edition of that one as well, even though I loath the over-use of the word "extreme" anymore.

Hangover got 78% fresh, Funny People 67% fresh (RottenTomatoes) - that's a very thin line you define on hating and praising something.
And if Rotten Tomatoes thinks so, It's GOTTA be true!

The "new" 108-minute unrated cut is exactly the same runtime as the unrated cut that was released in December. This is such a pointless double dip. Normally studios manage to fool me into re-buying movies when they do this but it won't work this time. Maybe if they release a triple dip around the time that the sequel comes out, I'll be interested, but not now.
How much will the Blu-Ray be on sale for this one?

You don't have a clue what Rotten Tomatoes is, do you?

Sorry, that came off wrong.
I understand what RT is and how it works, I just don't care what their whole consensus is. Who cares what some local newspaper t**ts and fashion magazine columnists think about movies? Do I care what Shawn Edwards thinks? No. The only thing that matters is how I feel about it.

You're going way off-subject.
This 'dispute' started on what the consensus was of critics on Hangover and Funny People. I pointed out that both films were pretty similarly received. You're turning it into a 'just-cause-critics-liked-it-doesnt-mean-you-have-to-like-it' discussion.

Did you like the Last Airbender and get your feelings hurt by RT? Only joking. There are plenty of reputable critics on RT. You just have to do a little research and figure out which critics those are, or which ones generally share your viewpoints. I'll admit the way they dress up the site can be lame, but their aggregation of critical responses to a movie is a valuable resource. I'm all for the subjective experience (I sometimes love movies that get terrible RT scores), but I don't think there is anything wrong with making an educated decision on what movies to spend your time and money on if you are serious about film.
Noted, apologies.
I tried to edit my previous post, but wasn't allowed for some reason.
But I wanted to clarify a lil.
Agreed Hoga, and no I haven't seen Airbender. :p
Jan, apologies for going off topic.
I only went off because it irritates me when people use critics to support THEIR viewpoint, no disrespect.

Figures, I just bought this a few weeks ago. Oh well, I'm happy with the copy I've got. I MIGHT rent this new version to see if the extended cut is worth it
I dont think Ill buy this again. It was a very funny movie and definitely the second best Comedy of 2009 ("500 Days of Summer" is first), but for 28 more photos, I think I can wait till this is about $15. No hurry.
I *hated* Hot Tub Time Machine - so few laughs, I couldn't believe it. Never saw In The Loop, it's on my queue. This was funny, but I already bought the first Blu-ray edition. I'll print out the artwork for the extreme edition and put it in the case of my current edition. The new artwork seems to be the only improvement.
