thats a F**KED up cover
That kid had way too much Halloween candy.
Looks like c**p, but I'll watch it.
I'm not crazy about the cover. It could have come off better if it had been scaled back a bit (like on the Blu-ray) and not so grainy.
I'm just waiting for LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT to be released. I don't know why it hasn't been announced yet. It's the best horror-thriller of the year by far at this point.

ok i've been wondering for months - what the f**k is going on in that picture? is the kid throwing up a goddamn tree? it's so disturbing seeing that picture and in the commercials and whatnot, and i would really prefer not to see this stupid movie.
I saw this...2 bloody weeks ago!!
Out of all the seances I've been to, I've never seen anybody cough up spirit mucus. These can't be truly true events.
Didnt see in theaters, but will rent it.
This was a pretty good movie and the artwork's not bad. At least it's the same as the theatrical poster. I'll pick up the Blu-ray.
Awful cover, but I actually sort of dug the movie.
That cover reminds me of the classic Red Dwarf episode Backwards for some reason
Haven't seen this at all but might check it out eventually.
That kid has diarrhea of the mouth.
Loved this movie! I was surprised at how creepy, scary and GOOD it was, compared to most PG-13 horror movies of late. Glad to see we're getting an extended cut.
Despite the critique on being an awful cover, atleast LionsGate managed to sly the theatrical poster one sheet as the home video cover. Which is better!
This looked pretty stupid. I have little faith in these teeny-bopper horror films. Most are just made to con stupid kids out of money. I will pass on this. But, it is nice to see that the poster was used as the cover. I don't understand why more dvds aren't released that way.

well its still a movie.....whatever you believe in, i'm sure they added things that didnt happen or least exagerated it for dramatic effect.
but to answer that other person asking what that stuff is....apparently its ecto-plasm.... it was so much prettier in Ghostbusters. lol

I listened to both Peter Cornwell and Virginia Madsen's interviews on Fangoria Radio and despite my initial doubts about this film, I was convinced that it might be a quality picture. I even dropped my reservations about its PG-13 rating. Filmmakers can get away with so much with a PG-13 rating these days.
As for this release, the cover looks like a modified version of the poster. It looks more grainy and sepia-toned here. I might be wrong though. I'm looking forward to the extended cut even though I have yet to see the theatrical version. There are surprisingly a lot more extras than I thought there would be.
As a side note, I'm eagerly awaiting the announcement of The Last House on the Left remake on Blu-ray. I hope an unrated, extended, director's cut, or whatever version comes out for it.

Thats Rogue Pictures (Universal Pictures) though, totally not in reference with Lionsgate. There should be a release date soon enough.

While I understand and agree with your sentiments (most of the time) this isn't a "teeny-bopper" horror film. Give this one a chance, you might be as pleasantly surprised as I was.

This movie is f**ing c**p. The "A Haunting" 2 hr. pilot episode is a lot more factual & well made than this piece of s*it.The cover is completley retarded & only a small plot thread to the film. I saw this on opening weekend & I actually went to the box office & asked for my money back. If your interested in this c**p remember time is precious & shouldn't be wasted. If your really mental & did a blind buy with the blu-ray release, remember that once it's opened you can't return it.
me too... im waiting for the LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT dvd release date...
this sucked big time...

I thought the movie was flippin' sweet, and it did turn me on to the "A Haunting" series. Cover art does suck, though.
