Academy Award® winners Billy Bob Thornton (Best Adapted Screenplay, Sling Blade, 1997) and Kim Basinger (Best Actress in a Supporting Role, L.A. Confidential, 1998), Academy Award® nominees Winona Ryder (Best Actress in a Leading Role, Little Women, 1995) and Mickey Rourke (Best Actor in a Leading Role, The Wrestler, 2009) star in an interweaving tale, which unfolds in Los Angeles in the decadent 80's: a city ruled by addictions of every type - from sex, to drugs, to power - where youth is wasted, where love is fleeting, where every night is a headlong rush to the next orgy of sensation. Sooner or later, the party has to end ...and the hangover is bound to be a killer. Also starring Chris Isaak, Brad Renfro, Amber Heard (Pineapple Express) and Austin Nichols (TV's "One Tree Hill"). Featuring 80's flashback music loaded with tracks from 'new wave' recording legends.

I definitely understand wanting the faces on the cover to help sell the movie, but this art is ugly!

Oh, you didn't hear? Winona Ryder and Mickey Rourke decided to do a real-life Face/Off. That is what they look like now.

Poor Mickey, having to whip his tits out to get acting respe... Actually he probably loves it.
Winona Rider isn't on the cover, the last "head" its from Amber Heard.

My favorite, HEADS THAT DON'T MATCH THE NAMES! Brilliant. This cover art is terrible. I wanted to see this movie, I still might, but not because the cover art made me. This is terrible.
For a second I thought this was a sequel to 9 1/2 weeks.
Literally the only reasons to see this are as follows:
1. Mickey Rourke's "inspired" performance
2. Brad Renfro's final film
3. Amber Heard's nude scenes

I had heard this movie was halfway decent, but too raunchy and sexually explicit to be shown in wide release. Will probably take the plunge and rent.....
I'm gonna rent this just to see Amber Heard naked!
IMO, it's worth it
Amber Heard...naked.
Enough said!

Good as a traditional cautionary tale, terrible as an adaptation. Although Brett Easton Ellis(the creator of the original book and one of my favorite modern writers) is credited as co-writer, he says the film was taken out of his control, because the studios thought a Boogie Nights-type structure(his intention) would cause issues with the MPAA and make the film too explicit to market.
It's an above average after-school special, but those who wanna see a good adapation will be disappointed. It broke some of the most important rules Ellis puts in his stuff(Don't compromise reality to present a message, and retain a sense of humor, no matter how morbid).

a good adaptation of an excellent novel. Ellis is my favorite writer and this movie does his themes justice. i cant wait to pick it up.
So who saw this besides 4 people? I dont even think anybody saw this.

The studio stopped recording boxoffice after the estimates for it's first weekend came out.

No actually the studio stopped it as soon as it got all the s h i t t y reviews that it got, lol. Besides, no promotional ads you wont get a big success.

Blu-ray artwork added...
Crazy this took so long to come out, as Renfro died a year and a half ago.

Obviously I am stupid because I didn't catch that the picture was actually of Amber Heard. I wanted to get that lame joke out so fast that I didn't bother looking. Oh well. It is weird that they put Winona Ryder's name and Amber Heard's picture up though.
