THE INTERPRETER (2005)
This was a very good film. Though its not the suspense thriller people wanted it was more of a drama. It was a very intelligent film with a very smart script and excellent performences form the whole cast. The ending is good even though it was not a major bang like people wanted. I wish there were more movies like this in the world, smart and intelligent dramas that take themselves seriously.

DEFINATELY
I will definately be getting this movie. It was so well done and the performances from Sean Penn and Nicole Kidman were phenomenal.
This is, in my opinion, one of the best thrillers in recent years. Being from Manhattan naturally adds to one's enjoyment of the movie.
I just hope it's got some good special features, for example a documentary about filming inside the UN's New York headquarters.

flawed but good
I thought Nicole was exceptionally good but Sean was more or less doing a generic grizzled detective falling for the person he's assigned to protect...the ending just sort of fell apart for me.
I don't know what movie you guys saw, but it wasn't the film I remember. The story plodded along at a snail's pace and the script was so contrived it was almost laughable. In addition, I doubt there has been a pairing of two actors with less chemistry in the history of cinema. There were long needless panoramic views of city streets and city skylines... the stock footage company was busy during the editing on this one! Sydney Pollack should stick to directing (although he was on vacation during the shooting of this film) because his acting is so atrocious.
pretty good movie. A little slow at first, but the ending was cool. Ill give it a rent I guess. Its one of those movies you really dont need to see more then twice.

oh no, that award belongs to Angelina Jolie and Ed Burns in "Life or Something Like It"...
The Interpreter... i really liked it, although by the end i found it to be quite predictable. it was still entertaining with really great cinematograhpy. i just wish Catherine Keener has been utilized more.

I'm surprised this film is getting some Oscar buzz. Was it really that good? I'll definitely have to see it. Looks like a good rent in October.
I wonder what they'll come up with for the artwork.

This will be a rental for me, it looked like it had potential, without being an explosive "must have".
I missed this so I could go see Sin City. I definitely want to try it on DVD, though.
I thought that Nicole Kidman was excellent. But what I liked most was how it did not insult anyones intelligence, it made you think, even though the ending was a bit predictible it was still a smart film. And just so you know they DID NOT fall in love Sean and Nicole had more of a friendship, a deep friendship than lust or love. It was a different take on the old story.

Is it just me, or does Steven continue to sound like a movie executive?

Just a rental for me.
IS it just me or is Sean Penn tending to play the same character type in quite a few of his movies nowadays?

Sean Penn sucks. The only role he would be convincing in would be a remake of "Popeye."
Menus added...
decent movie...
up until the rather obvious ending.Sean did seem to be sleepwalking too.
doesn't Kidman drive any of you mental with her stupid accents? Maybe you US lot think she can actually do these accents she keeps trying on but imo she should stick to aussie.
She's got many accents but I'm liking the sounds of her American accent in Bewitched. Dare I say it, but she looks hot in it and it looks to be an excellent comedy.
Nice menu shots. Can't wait for the artwork.

"Interpreting Pan & Scan vs. Widescreen featurette"
Hopefully people watch this and see how bad Pan & Scan is.

Yeah, maybe people will finally understand that full screen doesn't mean more picture.
DOubt it. Idiots will always be idiotic.
PS: NICOLE ROCKS
PS: NICOLE ROCKS
What full screen doesn't mean more picture?
Haha kidding.
Most people I know just don't care. Fullscreen? Widescreen? All the same to them. They would buy one Harry Potter movie widescreen, the second in fullscreen and then the third in widescreen again. Sheesh.
I like my friends but they just don't seem to care but now you hear a couple of them starting to get on the widescreen/OAR bandwagon and now they are kicking themselves. HA!
Anyways I really want to see this. Sean Penn is good but Nicole Kidman is even better.

Jeeze, your not here for a day and the whole site updates.
Decent looking menus, but I'd have to see them in action to make a more definitive comment.

Artwork added...
They have to be kidding with that cover art, it looks like some photoshopped junk for a piece of direct-to-video schlock starring Steven Seagal and Erika Eleniak.
And I can't believe they show the bus explosion. I read Sydney Pollack was mad when they showed it in the trailer, but to put it on the box itself, giving away what happens in one of the major suspense sequences? Idiotic.

What a horrible cover.
That Cover is even worse than the R2.
yeah....not sure what that cover is all about.
