A terrible movie, but it was fun in a bad-movie way. And the visuals and music were spectacular.

The biggest piece of tripe ever.
i was really looking forward to this and it turned out being one of the worst films i've ever seen. feels bad man.
I seem to be the only damn person who fully enjoyed this. If nothing else a great summer pop corn flick. Sure this wasn't the cartoon, which I love, but given the amount of time that they took to present it. It was a decent adaptation. Definitely not The Dark Knight, though it wasn't DBE either. The one thing that could have saved this more than anything would have been an extended cut adding about half hour of character development. I'm sure everyone here will disagree with me though.
This is horrible cover art... These graphic designer's don't put any thought in there work anymore.. I hope there are revised pictures soon.. because these are no good.
This film failed so hard, which is rather disappointing because it could have been really good. Check out the original animated series is you haven't already. Definitely worth watching, especially if you are a fan of martial arts.
I didn't think the animated show was all that -- a lot of the plot was lifted from "Dragonball Z" and countless other anime. Not to mention Aang was a blend of Naruto and Goku.
This was the first movie in a long time that I can say that I absolutely hated. The extra features on this DVD include a gag reel? I guarantee you that it's much better than the movie itself.
Loved this, cant wait to buy it.
wow....so now they aren't just limiting extras to a blu-ray version of a movie but they force you to buy the combo disc version if you want all the extras? damn.
kind of a backwards way of killing dvd if you ask me but what do i know. lol

Perhaps the gag reel is the cast pointing at the viewer and saying "you bought this movie sucker", it's a shame people didn't like this I was looking forward to an M Night comeback (although I love his other movies).

Being a huge fan of the show, I refuse to see this because I know it'll do nothing but anger me.

It was very entertaining cheese, nowhere near as terrible as other summer stinkers like Jonah Hex or Killers. This is coming from someone who never watched the show and has been hating M. Night's output since The Village. I'll pick this up for the right price

$5 Bin.
$5 Bin.
I never was into the cartoon at all when I was a kid, so I didn't even bother seeing this one either.
Looked terrible, heard it was terrible and then the post-3-D conversion was even more terrible. Also what is DBE? Someone posted about that but i dont know what movie it is

Never watch something in 3D if it wasn't shot in 3D. I learned my lesson from Nightmare Before Christmas. Dragon Ball Evolution

This movie...ugh. Well, it had perdy music, at least. Also, the cover art. Yeah.
I didn't want this one yet. I have seen all MNS movies up to this one and besides Happening, I liked all the others. I will watch this sometime down the line, but am not in any rush.
I just hope MNS gets back to making movies like Unbreakable. The last I heard, he was shopping another spooky film around. Hope he can get it off the ground and I hope it is good!

This movie was awesome. It will surely win many awards because it DESERVES it. MNS is an absolute genius, even Christopher Nolan is nowhere near to the wits and geniusness of MNS.

???
That's supposed to be sarcasm right? I like the animated series too. But, I have to agree with a poster who said that it's not that great. Well, it's great compared to other American animated series like Ben 10 for example, but compared to anime series, the story of avatar is a routine. Series like Naruto or Fullmetal Alchemist are better than Avatar. If you think avatar is great, try to watch them, just don't watch those filler episodes coz they aren't part of the original saga.
As for this movie, considering the high expectations for it, it's abysmal but fun in B-movie way.

That was probably what killed it. If people weren't expecting much of anything then there would be less of an outrage.

The film doesn't deserve the backlash it got. I've seen far worse adaptations. Sure, it isn't Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings level, but it isn't Eragon, The Seeker, The Golden Compass, and Inkheart level bad either. It was enjoyable but I will admit it could have been a lot better. 6/10
This film wasn't worth being converted to 3D. I do think The Golden Compass was a better film than The Last Airbender.
Gotta say, I quite liked Golden Compass. Eragon blew, but I still feel like it's going too far to say it's as bad as Last Airbender.
And I'll say that I fall into the category of people who'd consider the show amazingtastic. The story is routine, sure, but it's got enough character and personality to more than make up for it.
As for the movie, God-awful, but I'll admit that I loved the whole "wave" scene. Newton Howard's score is, unfortunately, more generic in this movie, but it has it's moments, and those moments were good enough for me to buy the soundtrack.

Best. Movie. Ever.

Is the gag reel just the movie in this case?
This film blows, big time.
M. Night gets the last laugh... $290,613,305 worldwide.
not bad for a terrible film.
not bad for a terrible film.
I look forward to the Rifftrax.
