I'm not excited about special features or anything so I'll pass. I'm good with my DVD.
The cover is alright but it makes it look like a recent teen horror flick. I'm thinking when the remake goes to DVD, there are going to be a lot of people accidently buying this one instead of the remake.

Sorry to disappoint some folk, but The People Under the Stairs remake is currently in pre-production. It was optioned a while back!!
I lie (apologises!). It's actually a sequel, due in 2010, which I had read about...

I really wish people would stop saying that the artwork is cool. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the movie. That woman isn't an actress in the film, and no one wears black gloves, either. If an MGM/FOX rep is reading this, they would think it's okay to put out s**tty artwork like this. They need to know s**t like this needs to stop, and they should use some original advertising art.
The Artwork looks like cheesey direct to video0 remake artwork (kinda like April Fools Day)
Werent the outtakes on the first DVD also never before seen???

I really like the art myself. I will pick it up.
the artwork makes it look like they are trying to appeal to the younger horror movie fans.

Hamisht wrote: I got the double sided R1 dvd, its got some pretty cool special features as it is. would buy the blu-ray version only it was digitally remastered like Blade RunnerNow I have to say almost-contradictory things. The first thing is, 16mm film can't really look much better. A "Blade Runner" style 4k remaster of original elements would do little to nothing to making The Last House on the Left look better.
However, most films are shot on 35mm, which for the record, contains up to 4k resolution, i.e. more than the 1080p that Blu-Ray can reproduce. So it is possible to remaster old "grindhouse" style films to look great, because standard film is higher-definition than BD. But it's an aesthetic, and of course, Last House doesn't qualify.

The artwork looks great - if it was advertising a different film!! As for the extras, they look pretty skimpy when compared with the recent UK release, plus the UK artwork is so much better than this. Highly recommend importing instead of wasting your money on this.
As for the remake, it's been given an R certificate. Mildly intrigued to see what it's like but doubt it will top the original.

Comb & paper solo at the ready...
This artwork is just GHASTLY!
They're trying to aim this release at kids who haven't seen the movie and have only vaguely heard of the title.
The artwork makes it look like some generic torture-porn movie from the last couple of years or so, and it's a pretty safe bet that there are going to be some VERY disappointed purchasers...
The Wilson Bros
PS: The recent UK 3-disc edition cleans the floor with this sorry affair, being just a very minor update of what was out there already, even missing some extras from last time. If you want the best and your system can handle PAL (R2), import the UK set, especially now that it's uncut.

I just received the new 3-disc Region 2 DVD, which I highly recommend over this. The cover is awesome on the 3-disc. This CE looks awful.

Have yet to see this sadly... cool artwork, though.
This is clearly an attempt to cash in on the fact that most young people today likely have not seen The Last House on the Left. The cover is cool, but it looks like it's for a post-2005 movie, not one from the 70s.

Blu-Ray and Grindhouse Sleeze DO NOT mix.

A pick up for me, and I love the artwork.

This artwork is horrible.

Just like Friday the 13th and My Bloody Valentine.
