Question: Is this based off his character in the "Once Upon A Time In China" trilogy?

No. That's Wong Fei Hung. It's pretty similar stuff though.
Word is this will be the same cut, Dimension used for their USA DVD (just called The Legend) but this time with a cut to fit Cantonese soundtrack plus the usual English dub.
Given that there are NO decent English subtitled versions I'll likely pick this one up still. Hopefully the sequel will follow.

I was just about to ask that Bradavon. Was foolishly hoping this was uncut and in Cantonese. Might just stick with my Tai Seng versions for now.
DVDTalk.com gets a quote on the cover, damn!

I understand DD did the same for Tai Chi Master (Dimension cut). I presume the Tai Seng is a re-release of the Hong Kong Universe Laser, which is non-anamorphic and an awful DD5.1 soundtrack. So this at least in this respect should be an improvement.
