They really can't fit each of these movies on a single disc?

Why oh why are they still milking these movies, Surely the Box set of extended edition should be enough now. There is nothing new so they should now stop and maybe if people stopped double/triple dipping they jusy may stop..
Can't see anyone buying these. They don't even have the appendices. It doesn't strike me as the kind of franchise where most people say "I'll have the first, but not the other two as that's when the director sold out!" so I dare say most would be inclined to buy the box set. If I was a milkman at New Line Cinema, I'd probably have released these first and then the box set.

I like the cover art for the US release of the Extended Editions better and they each come with three DVD discs of extras (too bad they couldn't have included the extras on blu-ray discs too instead of just making the movie discs on Blu-ray).
Awesome. All I want is the Extended movies in Extended form and that 15 disc box set was ridiculous. I'll never do anything with half those discs. The box set is expensive takes up loads of room.
I'll wait until they're a reasonable price for all 3 combined though.
