I know all that, but the buyer didn't pay me enough to use recorded (I think it's £36 now as well, as it's 100x the cost of a 1st class stamp). I have a certificate of posting, but it's not until you actually try to make a claim that you realise how difficult they make it for you. You have to wait fifteen working days, have proof of posting and an original receipt showing the value of the item. Yeah, 'cause I keep receipts for stuff I've bought indefinitely... They're f**ktards.

You can still make a claim if you have your receipt and proof of postage. Failing that, use Recorded Delivery mate. You're covered up to £32 and you have tracking.

I'll just stick to my 10 disc box set thanks - loved the movie but no worth the double dip
Frankly, I think the cover artwork sucks. The original poster is excellent. Why deviate from it?
Can anyone confirm if it will have a standard Blu-ray case or one of those annoying cardboard Digipak thingies?
I wonder what percentage of consumers prefer the impractical Digipak or the universal standard Blu-ray case.
I for one, prefer the latter (for all releases).

this is awesome, since all i want is this one, and not the other two
I could care less about the other two, so this is a must buy for me.
already got the boxset.
I need to eventually save money for a bluray player...
So it remastered? I remember there being a few minor specks and a couple of minor instances of edge enhancement on the other Blu-ray.
I find it tragic that this art was never used for any of the DVDs or Blus: http://www.amazon.com/Art-Matrix-Spencer-Lamm/d...
I think the art shown here looks kind of awful.

Funny how everyone asked for this to be released on its own and yet there are loads of complaints about it being a rip off without the other two. It's good for the people who just like the first film, although the trilogy is so cheap you might as well just buy that. What exactly do you mean?!?!?!?!?!?!
Anyway it's not really Matrix related but to the guy who mentioned Johnny Mnemonic, well I was looking at the offical Dolph Lundgren site (I was very bored) and he mentioned that movie, except he called it Johnny Pneumonic, made me laugh anyway.

I felt EXACTLY the same.
I vaguely recall the actor who played the character Cypher on some talk show before The Matrix came out, saying how great the movie was and how it was gonna blow Episode 1 away. I thought he was nuts. He turned out to be absolutely right.
What a sad irony then, that the Matrix sequels turned out to have the same stiffness, poor dialogue, bad acting and excessive CGI as the Star Wars prequels.

i still don't own this, but i might just get the entire blu-ray collection.
Wow, it was 1999 and I still remember this coming out about two months before Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. To think, I totally dismissed this film as more Keanu Reeves cyberpunk garbage in the vein of Johnny Mnemonic and thought Episode I would easily run away with the best Sci-Fi movie crown that year......Boy, was I wrong, LOL.......
Awesome. I really didn't want to re-buy the whole collection, but I'd definitely spring for the original flick. And very classy cover.
10 years. Christ.
Almost 25 years since "Ghostbusters". Where's the uber-spectacular re-release of THAT??

Can't wait!
I was stoked when I first heard (or read) that Warners would be releasing a standalone edition. Then I was promptly annoyed to discover it would be one of those damn digibook thingys - my OCD demands that everything be uniform!....But seriously, I'm getting tired of all these gimicky packaging ideas. First we get lenticulars and slipcovers, now these stupid things. Honestly, is it too much to ask for a simple standard blu-ray case?...On the plus side, I will give them points for the artwork. I actually kinda dig it, I just think they should have utilized the color green somewhere, preferably for the code. It is a major aspect of the film's visual identity, after all...
Anyway, I also agree the first one is the only one worth viewing more than once, let alone owning. The second two films blew harder than Dizzy Gillespie with an ear infection...but then, I guess that's what happens when a movie becomes an unexpectedly massive hit and Hollywood decides they need to find a way to milk that cash cow into a full-blown trilogy.

Don't have the movies yet, so i'll go for this edition, the movies are sold seperately here anyway.
That is a pretty awesome cover, even though I have no intention of buying it because I don't have a BluRay player.

That's one of the reasons it IS worth getting.

Is is going to have a case, or be stuck in that book? Also, are the others getting individual releases as well? I passed on the set a while ago, I may go with individuals.
Time moves too fast. The Matrix was one of the best theatre experiences I have ever had. Never walked out of a theatre so full of adrenaline and wonder.
Wow.. ten years!!!!!
Anyways..decent cover art but I plan on getting the trilogy anyways.

It comes out exactly on its 10th Anniversary, Mar. 31st. Hard to believe 10 years have passed... Nice cover, but already have the extras on hd dvd.

Not really. It's never been released on it's own on BD before and for that matter the Remastered version is still only available in the DVD box set.
The sequels are awful. I've waited ages for just the first film on BD.

its most likely just the 2 disc version thats included in the complete series collection. MAYBE they've added some featurette about the anniversary or something but yeah. i'm sure the other two movies will be released individually as well.
i guess if you reeeally dont like the sequels and dont own this in high-def (or at all) then its good but otherwise, totally pointless but not unexpected.

10 years already? Crumbs...
Anyway not worth getting as the other two films are missing.
I had my doubts whether this Blu-Ray disc had hi-def picture and sound on it, but thankfully they tell me that this Blu-Ray disc does indeed include it!

It doesn't say anything about new features, it's probably just the "follow-the-rabbit" type, "click while you watch" stuff. Looks good though, I'll pick it up to avoid paying for the whole trilogy.
The other Blu-Ray version was released only a few months ago. I might get it because I don't have any of them in Blu-Ray and the cover is pretty good.
I refuse to believe that after the 10-disc set there is anything left to say about this film, whether it's interesting or dull.
Whatever could the new special features possibly be?
Also, still think the original poster art on the original release is the best artwork. Certainly preferable to this latest effort.

sweet....no need for the other two!
