this movie sucked ass!
No Way Out
The Untouchables
Bull Durham
Field of Dreams
Dances With Wolves
JFK
Perfect World
Wallyworld
Tin Cup
13 Days
Open Range
The Guardian
3000 Miles to Graceland
Mr Brooks
14 films. Not all perfect but all entertaining in there own ways.
There are duds in the Costner back catologue but he's always tried to tackle different genres and characters within his own (self confessed) limitations as an actor (listen to his comments on the Robin Hood comm track as eveidence).

I watched this today. I'm not sure why people thought it was so bad. It wasn't entirely what I was expecting (i.e., daughter is possessed by a ghost and turns into a bad girl). I will say the last part is not what you expect. Anyway, the movie had some creepy moments and the acting could have been far worse. People's expectations are ridiculous sometimes.
Kevin Costner is a horrible actor, but he makes good movies. I personally never really liked him in anything except 'Dances with Wolves.' I was pleasantly surprised by 'Mr Brooks,' though, and I have to say I greatly enjoyed that one. Even his performance.
This? Yeah, I'll pass.

UPSIDE OF ANGER was a good flick. And THE GUARDIAN did decent at the Box Office and on DVD. A ton of big stars have movies that go Direct-to-DVD, though like mentioned this is not exactly Direct-to-DVD.
No actual Costner fans looking at this thread then?
Actually this was not straight to DTV
It had a limited release in dec 2009

"The Hurt Locker" was almost a DTV before Summit Entertainment finally agreed to get it released.
Whether the company WANTED the movie to go to theatres first is irrelevant - it is still a DTV.

But this one actually looks like c**p...

Crossing Over wasn't DTV...

(I seem to recall TV Spots for it in theaters, as well)

Kevin is still capable of good work "Open Range", but some choices lead to this. Ah well he'll be fine. Even Harrison Ford had his direct to DVD with "Crossing Over."
This technically is not a direct-to-disc movie as it was dumped into a few (granted, few) dollar bin theaters around the country late last year.
Dear or dear Costner, what have you done to deserve such a fall from grace?
Oh yes thats right:
Swing Vote
The Guardian
Upside of Anger
Dragonfly..........
Welcome to DTV hell Costner, i'm sure you'll be very happy.
By the way Costner; been to any golfing tournaments in Scotland recently? Yeah, we know what went down lol

Since you are new here and you will be here for a while, allow me to introduce you two. Kevin this is direct-to-video, direct-to-video this is Kevin. That over there at the bar is Val Kilmer and Steven Seagal. Make yourself at home!
