Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced a Blu-ray release of The Ninth Gate which stars Johnny Depp, Lena Olin, and Frank Langella. The disc will be available to own from the 11th August, and should retail at around $19.99. The film itself will be presented in widescreen, along with 7.1 DTS HD Master Audio. Extras will include audio commentary with director Roman Polanski, a Dissecting The Ninth Gate featurette, a gallery of satanic drawings, storyboard selections, and some trailers.

Love this movie. It's got atmosphere out the wazoo.

I really liked this. Despite some iffy acting from it's female cast it's extremely atmospheric and suspenseful, Polanski is a master filmmaker.
Never got around to this. Will add to Blockbuster Q.
I definitely think this film is underrated...it's got the illusion of B-movie schlock, but in actuality it's a very smart, solid supernatural thriller...
Now, speaking of great below-the-radar Johnny Depp fare, maybe Paramount can pop out a Nick of Time blu-ray sometime in the near future? Man, I love that film!...

I liked this a lot too, it just sort of grows on you. That MAY be largely to Depp but i still liked it. You don't see a lot of movies like this any more and especially this good. They used to toss these things out like it was nothing. Stigmata and al those other ones from 99/2000 but this was a lot better than most.
Anyone know if this is the same commentary from the DVD release?
