Not fond of the artwork, they should have at least done what they did with Season 2, and just divided the 1 picture into different ones...

Wow, that kid in the middle actually managed a facial expression.
marissa's dead.
the artwork should be marissa dead on the ground with an exaggerated shocked expression and everyone looking down at her...

I'm glad they killed her off, she was pretty much static throughout the season.
As bad as its been, Melinda Clarke still owns this show.
The third season was lackluster, but I'm still gonna get it to complete my collection!
Here's hoping the shortened 4th season will give them a reason to make it as good as the first.
And Taylor's right, they should have cut the image up to match the first 2 seasons' artwork.

Guilty pleasure.

No she's dead. The official Season Four press release confirmed it.
Season Four should be good. I see the shortened length as a blessing, as it means less need for filler (almost all TV shows wish they only have 2/3 the episodes a year, as it keep everything fresh).
They have a lot of good storylines too this year. The death of Marissa is a good one, as well as her killer's escape (Volchik's gone to Mexico). Summer is going to Brown, Seth is becoming a teacher or something. They've also got three new full time cast members (Taylor, Kaitlin and Dr Roberts, who'll be added to the credits), and the show is kind of restarting itself i.e. leaving a lot of baggage to create new stuff.
Rumours say the show will switch focus onto Kaitlin and her starting school in Newport. Ryan will be focused on less, as will Sandy and Kirsten, but Taylor, Seth, Summer, Julie and Dr Roberts will get a lot more focus.
It's a lot, and I'm sure they won't f**k it up. Plus the original producer has come back full-time.

I have to day that this is an extremely underrated show in every way. its not a stupid melodramatic teen soap opera. yes it can be like that at times, but this is really a great witty show about families and friends. There are seriously laugh-out loud moments and really true and honest moments between the family members. if people would just give it a chance and not judge it by the c**ppy commercials, it would be liked a lot more. I personally love the show, its my favortie show on TV and was really sad when Marissa died. This will be a must for me. I also love the cover art, it captures the tone of the show. I really love "The O.C." and I dont care what people say about it. Watch it and make up your own mind
What I absolutely hate about these DVDs is that they don't have the original 5.1 surround sound tracks with them. The O.C. has awesome sound mixes, but it gets brutally missed out on DVD. And the beach scenes are great too in 5.1.

Where did you read that the first episode is called "The Awakening"? Because Schwatrz said Marissa is dead and Barton confirmed it. I would love it she came back, because I really like where Marissa was going on the show, she was leaving with her dad Jimmy and would come back and forth. That would have been a good way to dismiss her charecter. So mabye there is still a slight chance it will still happen if she comes back. But I still think she is dead.

Why change up the artwork? I hate this show.

I hope that the fourth season is really good, as it's been pretty s**t lately, and I hope that Samaire Armstrong gets a few more appearances (here in Australia we have two more eps left of the third season.) But I also hope that they cancel the show after the 4th season. I can't see the show being what it is without Marissa, and I hope that they put a lot more effort into this season as to make it very strong. That way when they cancel it, it will be on a high note. They can't string these storylines on much longer. I'm getting tired of it.

I mostly liked the third season. Season two was just awful. Three was just a bit mellow and lost focus sometimes. Marissa's death was kind of surprising, but it will probably either be a rating's boost or a killer. Then again, Shannen Doherty's absence from Charmed didn't hurt that series too much.
I hate this show so much. The artwotk sucks, by the way.

So, you have a group of people seriously discussing the quality of a DVD, all with a shared interest in that particular series, when someone reeking of low self-esteem bursts in just so that they can prove how much more "cultured" and "intelligent" they are by flaming a TV-show. What they don't realize is that they've just given their opinion to people who absolutely don't care and don't agree.

When Mischa died, the show died.
