Not as great as the show's peak (Season 3 IMO), but the episode shown after the Super Bowl is one of my all-time favorites.

I love this season, it went through a lot!! (The Michael Scott Paper Company!)
I hope Best Buy will have another "box" set for this season...or at least a good price on the blu....although this type of shows aren't that much needed in HD.

For a show in its fifth year, it was quite good.
I think the Superbowl episode was half a blessing half a curse. They had to deliver a stand alone episode and remind casual audiences who everyone in the office was without resorting to the season story archs. In the previous episodes, they had rushed the resolution of the love triangle between Dwight, Andy and Angela and it wasn't very effective (but the whole arch wasn't that good to begin with, it was much less interesting than the Michael-Holly relationship).
After the Superbowl episode, they produced some of their strongest material in ages. They found back the right tone to treat Dwight, the show was again centered on things actually taking place in the office and Charles Miner's character injected a good dose of reality in the subject, making an escapist episode such as "Café Disco" a welcome conclusion and a relief rather than a folly. And Ryan became more an asset than a dead weight after his return.

I agree with RTHomas. They strayed too far from the original characters' attitudes and mannerisms. After the Super Bowl episode, which was a great one, they got most of the characters back to the core. I with they used Toby more.
Why in the world is BJ Novak on the cover? He was in like one episode this season. I'm buying this anyway.
Toby has less time to be on screen. Since show creator Greg Daniels is in charge of "Parks and Recreation", writers Jennifer Celotta and Paul Lieberstein (who plays Toby) have been promoted to co-show runners.
Toby won't leave but look at the bright side: almost every episode with Paul Lieberstein as a writer or a director is a winner.
BJ Novak was only in half the episodes of the season. He was cast in a little indie war movie called "Inglorious Basterds" and got a vacation.
Nice to see Ed Helms (Andy) back on the cover.

Besides an incredibly dull cover, why does Steve Carell look like a 70-year old who rubbed his face full of Botox?
"Look, ma! I can photoshop!
I got an A in my Jr. High art class by doing the cover for The Office DVD!"
Lol.
That cover art is really bad.
Doesn't even look like Steve Carell,
and I love the heavy JPEG compression in all the faces and clothing.
I really was hoping that this year the Office's DVD cover would be a little better.

i thought season 5 was a big improvement over 4. the last half of the season was especially hilarious. but i also never understood why b.j. novak was even in the opening credits when he's barely in any of the episodes....oh wait, he's writes and co-produces the show. shock. can't wait to pick this season up though.

I made the same observation when I first saw the cover art for season 4. I think it has to do with his role as a writer and producer on the show.
Anyway, it is really so hard to just gather the cast together and take a group photo for the cover? What's the point of just cutting and pasting random shots of them to give the illusion that they're standing next to each other? It gives the cover that fake, overly glossy look that everyone but the studios seem to hate.

I honestly find this show is losing more and more steam with every season. It's just not that fun anymore (or maybe my taste in humor is evolving).

Agreed. A must buy, nevertheless.

Looks like they make Carell's eyes smaller. He looks really creepy.
Horrible art in my opinion. They made Steve Carell look like a chimpanzee! Hoping for a revision!
Jenna Fischer is so adorable
