SWEET!!! I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!
This is one of Coppola's finest efforts. The writing. acting, direction and cinematography were top notch. Just seeing this collection of actors at the start of their fame makes it worth viewng. Though his screen time was brief, it would have been cool if Tom Cruise did a short commentary or interview since this marked one of his first screen appearances. Unfortunately it doesn't look like the current theatrical version is included here and Coppola has tinkered with the soundtrack as well. I sold the previous version on Ebay but I think I am gonna run out and make a re-purchase. It may be the last time the original version is available.
- It's the mist is what's pretty you know. All gold and silver. Too bad it can't stay like that all the time.
- Nothing gold can stay.

It says 2005 trailer. Does that mean there will be a remake.
Its about time. Have the old one but i will for sure by it
hmmm, nobody's complaining that you dont get the original version? i'm surprised..lol
as for the 2005 trailer, its probably just the trailer for the dvd's release, i've seen other movies add this..

I've heard rumours about a remake, so you never know.
they plan to re-release the new version of the outsiders in the theatres.. reason for the 2005 trailer.

i'll pick this up probaly, WB in canada dont put stupid french subtitles all over the case, so it makes me wanta get this a lil more.
it's being re-realesed in New York in L.A. with 22 minutes of extended footage on september 9th
I really need to rewatch this one. I watched it two years ago and did my novel study on it then.
Excellent movie. I might end up getting this.
DareDevil, that's a pretty ignorant statement
Audio Commentary
I guess Tom Cruise was too busy kissing Katie Holmes to contribute to the audio commentary
Well, the deleted scenes are finally coming to light - finally.
WOW !!
This has got to be a purchase, sounds like Coppola has totally changed it !
So glad about this!
One of my favorites growing up - I'm glad they are releasing this one with the deleted footage.....I'll be first in line to buy this.
Artwork added...
they kept the cover simple. which is nice.
hard to tell however, if this will be an amaray with a slipcase over it... or if it'll go the digi-pack route like a few select other wb 2 discers. i'd prefer the digi over the slip case, but if it indeed is a digipack wb need;s to stop going back and forth between amaray and digipack for their older 2 disc special editions.. Lost Boy's shoulda been in a digi-pack! They gave Space Jam a digi-pack!
bastards....

Wow - what a great release for this classic - I wonder if it will filter through to region 4 in it's entirity
art work
Nice looking cover too !
Just wondering why you would prefer a cardboard case over an amaray case? If the case gets worn or the spindle that holds the disc breaks, you are out of luck. Ever since their decision to drop the snapper cases, Warner has been pretty consistent with their two-disc releases. The packaging is typically a standard flip tray, DVD case with an outer cardboard sleeve that is somewhat redundant but a nice touch nonetheless.
I saw this movie in school last year after we finished reading the book. I never thought of buying it, but now that there is a special edition I will think about it.
We had to watch this film in school, as well. Once in 6th grade, and then again in the 8th. To be honest, I always enjoyed the film over the novel for some reason.
