Unless this has all the features of the Buttercup/Dread Pirate edition, it's a complete waste of time. Sure, it has a cool new cover, but so what ? If we all bought new versions of dvds we already have just for a new box and a couple of new (probably that will never be watched), then we'd all miss out on new dvds we don't have. It just doesn't make sense.
Nice cover!
Any news if the Criterion Commentary is on this one?

Definitely overkill. I have the original special Edition. Plus, I'm in Canada, so I'm sure they'll have a bilingual cover that will mess up the effect.

Yeah?
I see that "Inconceivable" and I'll raise you one more..

That is a pretty cool cover. I might just buy this, even though I don't think the movie is all that.

Unfortunately, it is. Those "untold tales" must be pretty something or else it really is a waste.

It's quite funny now that Fox is doing the DVD since Fox realeased the movie in the first place(Ditto on Platoon also).
From what I understand, this IS everything from the first and second special editions PLUS the new features. But we'll have to wait and see I suppose.
Love the cover... but who needs this edition? I have the original edition. Didn't bother with the Buttercup edition. Won't bother with this one.
nice cover, the C and E in Princess look near identical though
this cover just blew my mind.
haven't even seen it but i'll buy this edition.

Really cool art. I have a $5 DVD of this yet I haven't seen the movie.

I still wouldn't buy it lest they add commentary with a resurrected Andre the Giant. Even today, I still near-pee my pants I laugh so hard at his heavily accented portrayal of "The Dread Pirate Roberts".

That has to be the best cover I've seen in a long time.
HOW MANY MORE?!?!?!?!?!
Great cover but we don't need this! Inconceivable is right.

It's tough to read, that's true, but you can read the title upside down as well, hence the strange font.
Yeah, I thought the cover was awesome. The flip-ability is incredibly creative! Great job whoever designed the cover! I'll be buying this for the case alone!
It's called an ambigram and yes they're awesome.

Jeez. I just bought the pirate edition just last year! That was like the 4th version of the film on DVD and I thought the final. Do it right the first time you greedy studios!
The original DVD and 1-disc Special Edition were MGM's, but keep in mind that Sony bought them not to long ago. Sony released the 2-disc Buttercup and Dread Pirate editions. Now Sony doesn't distribute the MGM DVDs, 20th Century Fox does, so this is their version. It is pretty ridiculous I must say.
The cover is a great one however.

They came out with a 2-disc edition probably a year ago, and now we are getting this? It's not even 2-discs!
I'm not sure if that's the coolest cover I've seen in a while, or the stupidest. Still, I've never got around to buying this one, so why not? This is way better than the pirate/princess editions they (just barely) came out with recently. Was that even a year ago? What a stupid idea.
I'll stick to my "Buttercup" edition (yes, I liked it more than the "Dread Pirate"
!
Cool cover, but I like the edition I've already got. Maybe if there was a new actor audio commentary, but nah, none of the new features really scream "Gotta get this!"
Enough with the quadruple dipping on this one already. MGM got it right with their special edition. Everything since then is pure greed. Studios should come up with new and inventive ways to promote what they've already got instead of re-issuing the same titles again and again. I mean, these new featurettes sound pretty thin. The Art of Fencing? Fairytales and Folklores? Come on.
This is just so wrong.
One of the best covers I've seen in a while and very inventive. However, will this version trump all the others since this is like #4 or 5 that I'm aware of? Great film nonetheless and at some point you have to buy a version if you love the film and call it a day. This may be it.

Serious overkill.
I think it's a pretty badass cover, myself. I like the fact it's flippable, with the font staying the same.
Are you kidding? Didn't they just come out with the "Dread Pirate" edition and its sister slipcase? QUIT MILKING, DAMNIT!
Inconceivable!!!!!!!!

This is the 4th version of Princess Bride on DVD. Nothing compelling enough to buy again... put in on Blu-Ray and I'll buy it again.
