The Punisher doesn't deserve a DTS track, just be lucky this isnt barebones
I heard this movie makes the Dolph Lundgren movie look Oscar worthy. Dunno if its that bad, but its definately not worth $27, this looks to be a rental.
Lion Gates doesn't usually offer or is known for dts soundtracks in their dvd releases, are they? If this was released by Universal, I guesss there would be a better chance of getting one.
wow
This is, quite possibly the WORST movie I have ever seen. At least, it's probably the worst movie I've seen on the big screen.
And yes, it DOES make the Dolph Lundgren look, if not Oscar worthy, at least watchable.

A rental just to kill the curiosity.
It didn't look like The Punisher..... just a movie with a similar theme, but not THE Punisher.
How could they have stuffed this film up so badly? I havent read the comics but as far as I know, all the film really needed was a pissed off dude with a shitload of guns who goes on a killing rampage! How hard can that be, you didnt even need much of a story. Instead, there seemed to be a sort of gay undercurrent to it.

It's definitely worth a rental because there are actually some laugh out loud 'SO-friggin-bad-that-it-is-HILARIOUS' parts in it.

well remember that they made the movie so that a lot of people went to see a superhero , i doubt that what we nowadays call a hero would go on a shooting rampage

Amen, the trailer is the reason I would go see a movie in the first place, it MUST be on the DVD. Anything else is usually inconsequential.

I just never liked the Punisher. I thought the idea wasn't as origional as other marvel characters. Well that's just my opinion.
I find it interesting that the same critics who panned this movie for its "gratuitous" violence are the same critics who praised Kill Bill vol 1. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Kill Bill show a little gratuitous violence? This is not a great movie but I have seen worst films. Give it a shot if you have not seen it and judge for yourselves.
If you think the Ludgren version is better...you just have no clue what you're talking about.
I havent seen this movie yet but I already know that this version is better than Dolph Lundgren version. The trailer was better than was even better than that version.
This movie wasnt to bad just some weird lines in like has if it was out of a game or something. I thought it to be a not bad movie considering how bad the first one was. And being a fan of marvel i'd say this is better then "Hulk".
I don't think that'll be the final artwork. For one, it says Tom Jane, when he goes by Thomas Jane.

The difference: Kill Bill was well-written and produced. Punisher was neither.

Were you watching a different version of Kill Bill to me? I was hugely disappointed with both "volumes".

Kill Bill = crap. If the same movie had come out with a name other than "Quentin Tarantino" on it, critics would have blasted it for what it was: a hammy, poorly-written piece of B-level schlock, and it would ahve been gone from theatres in a month.
well, I'll probably pick it up, but that cover art is TERRIBLE! get travolta's face off there! IDIOTS!
There will be a SE eventually. With a better cover I hope.
so is definately gonna be a special edition in the near future?
I thought this movie was awful. I'm a huge comic fan, and I had high hopes and ignored the critics, but it was DISMAL. Terrible story, and bad acting (Travolta is incapable). It's not dumb violence like Kill Bill, it's dumb violence. I'm gonna buy it anyways for collecting purposes. I hear there is version with comic artwork and a prequel comic written by Garth Ennis (!!!). That'll be the -real- Punisher.
