Looks very boring and I usually hate movies like this. I MAY rent it. If I do I'd like to see the alternate ending and I don't do blurays through my Netflix and blockbuster is so shady so...

This is so far the worst movie I've seen of 2011, and the year's not even over. It was preachy, tedious, and not scary in any sense of the word. Nope. Not even ONE creepy scene. You can tell it was fake/staged. I was so disappointed.

Excellent movie. I think people think "Horror" every time the words Exorcist or Exorcism are included somewhere. This movie deal with exorcism, but it's far from an horror movie, it's more like a drama based on true events. The movie is indeed very realistic, and you'll not see pea soup or spider walk or even a weird looking eyes on the possessed, but something more like a psychological trauma. It might be a little scary at the very ending of the exorcism, but again, don't expect something unexplained. I truly like the way this story is told, very slow but captivating with the presence of Anthony Hopkins and Colin O'Donoghue.

To each their own, but I found this movie awful. Scary or not, it just wasn't well made. The acting, I thought, was subpar, it burrowed heavily from other exorcism movies, and the direction taken was not a strong one. 3/10.

I'll take horror fans tip and avoid it. It's funny the last exorcism surprised me by how much I liked it but this just looks DOA. These movies seriously need a new angle. Scary or not they need to reevaluate how to make them. I think the problem is the genre has been done to death, but like I said TLE worked well IMO, even the faux documentary worked in thar film

If Anthony Hopkins was not in it I would not care
I haven't seen this, but am pretty intent on avoiding it, as it looked really preachy.

I'm guessing you didn't see Green Hornet, The Dilemma, No Strings Attached, or Adjustment Bureau....

I saw "The Green Hornet", and actually quite enjoyed it. Flawed? Yes. But fun? Heck yeah. "No Strings Attached" was okay. It wasn't too bad. I still think "The rite" is the worst movie of 2011 thus far.
Haven't seen "Adjustment Bureau". Heard that was fantastic. Not sure about "The Dilemma".
