I need to see this or better yet read the book and then see it. Brilliant cover art.
I will say that the cover is a bit word heavy, but I'll still have it first day. Hillcoat is a fantastic director. I really look forward to this guy's future in cinema.
Though I'd prefer one of the original posters, this cover is pretty nice. That is, it's not one of the overblown photoshopstravaganzas that we usually get, what with the floating heads and whatnot.

I guess it just comes down to whether you enjoy films that exist for this reason. Apparently, I don't.

Didn't think I was enjoying it as I watched it, until about 25 minutes in, when suddenly I realised I was nervous as all heck watching it, and suddenly I was gripped, relaxed, gripped, relaxed, tense as hell, amazing piece of cinema, and I am so excited for the blu ray release.
The cover makes it look like Hard Rain 2
Great film. Criminally overlooked.
That artwork makes it look like they're in a hurricane!
Not a fan of the artwork. Oh well still will be buying.
Thought it was ok, kid was somewhat annoying, although not at "Jaden Smith" levels (thankfully). Not exactly sure why/what Charlize Theron was doing in the film.. They could have cut out her part completely and I don't think it would have hurt the story at all. Some familiar overlap with the Book of Eli.
Worth a rental, not sure I'd buy since I don't see why anyone would want to watch it more than once.

i hate that kids face in the artwork

It was about the journey the father and son take in a world with no hope. How is that dull and filled with nothing? That's what was the point of the movie. To make you feel empty and hopeless.
Btw horrible artwork. Hopefully the bluray artwork goes with the movie novel artwork.

This movie had quite a success here in Europe.
Finklestein, did you direct this? don't be douche because people didn't like something YOU liked. i saw this is theaters and i too didn't care all that much for it. it's VERY repetitive (boy and dad search for food. boy asks about cannibals. they run from danger/cannibals. repeat. lather, rinse, repeat.). i DO think Viggo deserved to be nominated for this though.
The book is a a drag, the movie is a drag. But both are fantastic.
When you are a father and son struggling to survive in an apocalyptic future, it's not gonna be sunshine and rainbows. Under the circumstances, I think this is a truly uplifting and hopeful movie.

Heard the book was really good, but I don't really have the urge to go see what is probably a really depressing movie!
Another movie that I need to see.
Maybe they should have increased the acting categories to 10 nominations each as well
.

Both guys earned there oscars damn it. They should have got nominated!

Amazing movie...Day one blu purchase for me!
A masterpiece in filmmaking, ranks among the best films of the last 10 years.
The performace of Viggo and the boy are mesmerizing. The film is utterly depressing but it grabs you where a good film should grab you, right by the throat. A million thumbs up !!!!

I cannot wait! Really loved this film.
Will rent.... Now announce A SINGLE MAN already! I believe it's set to come out the same day.
i wanted to see it badly but didn't gotta see it for sure when it comes out on dvd
I was on the fence. It did have a misleading trailer though and it had like 3 moments of PURE tension that i wish the entire film was like that. I do think its worthy of a rental for those who didnt see it
My movie of 2009 has arrived. I hope they use the cover of Viggo clutching the boy covered in ash
Didn't see it, but heard good things. Will likely rent
Didn't really like it. Something about it was so contrived and boring after a point. The acting was okay, but nothing worth an award. I was disappointed after all the hype.
Neither Emil Ryderup or TubedUp909's comments were interesting. They're dull and filled with.. nothing... Will pass.
"The Road" is definitely one of the best films to come out of 2009, right up there with "District 9" and "The Hurt Locker". The relationship between father and son is beautiful, particularly set against such a dark backdrop. McCarthy should be proud.

Not very good, and not very interesting. Will pass.
Uninteresting movie. Had it's moments, but was sort of dull and filled with.. nothing...
YES!! My favorite movie of 2009 and possibly the decade.
