When does season 8 come out? I cant believe it I'm sitting here watchin "Summer of 4' 2" the c**ppy season 7 finale
does any one know if they are going to do the same mail-in thing with season 7 as they did with season 6. This one they are actually going to sell two different versions as opposed to season 6 where you had to buy the homer head and then send in for the square box. has anyone heard details about this yet?
according to dvd.ign.com, this dvd is supposed to have the special edition marge head and the standard square box art. does that mean that they won't allow us to send in to get the square one when we buy the marge head?

Can't wait to pick it up now.
As usual, we won't get a choice down under.....
Some great episodes in Season 7, shame they didn't end it there, because the later ones including the present season that's showing have been mediocre.
I think I'll be going with the Giant Head. I got the mail-in too, just to collect it, but I like the Homer head better. I think its a neat idea to have all 5 heads, and with the slip covers, they don't look that different at all, jsut a tad shorter and fatter. I hope that by Season 11 they do design something different...to hold the Blu-Ray discs.

Is the one with the packaging like the old seasons going to have the marge head inside it?
I noticed the alternate box for the Homer Head is kind of flimsy, not as well built as the originals. If this doesn't have the Marge head inside it, I would expect it would be a little sturdier.
The last seasons aternative box was (for region 2 atleast) not flimsy at all. It looked just the same as the old ones (only difference was a hole where a part of the eyes of the character (homer for last season)was visible. The box inisde looked the same as the headboxs inside (but was shaped as the old ones so it fits perfectly).

I'd suggest therapy.
Change isn't necessarily bad, especially when you talk about a show like the Simpsons that has a ton of seasons to put out. Things like M*A*S*H look pretty boring on my shelf.

its because some people, i include myself here, are a little anal when it comes to season set packaging, its nice to have an ongoing style or look so that it all matches and looks nice and pretty together...so we had 5 seasons that did just that and then season 6 came with the head case and now the next few seasons will also do the head thing...
personally i dont mind that packaging on its own, its cute and stuff but i like my tv series to match and thats why whenever i get season 6, i'm sending away for the new box and if season 7 and up DO give us the choice in stores like i think, i'll pick up the boxes again...

but even if they never made the regular boxes and we only had the head, i wouldnt be bitching or anything, i'd buy it because in the end, its the contents that matter most.....

That sucks. I'll probably go with Marge's head, but I wish there was a mail in coupon like there was in Homer's head.

I am loving that huge Marge head!

i hope the mail away coupon is inside if you choose to buy the version with the big marge head. i don't mind paying the $2.50 and waiting for it to show up in the mail. they must not have wanted to deal with all the checks again...
i sent away for the season 6 box, my dvds are in it and the homer head is on top of my dvd stand.

I don't really like the art. Actually I might have liked a Marge's head more than that.
Where's the Marge's head set? Aren't they releasing this both ways?

Speaking of images, I have had some problems getting my image to appear with my signature. I used to be able to have one, and now for some reason it doesn't work. Once again Mr. Gould I appolpgize for mispelling your name. I guess I need to pay more attention.

Okay, so now that Homer head DVD is ESPECIALLY an oddball.
I can't find a bigger picture but...
What about the limited edition Marge head box? No artwork for that yet?
I hate this artwork. It would have been so much better if they had used the head design again. I actually like convienientaly storing my discs in Homer's head.
Man, it's taken me a long time to get to 100 posts.

You took those words right out of my mouth. But I wonder if the "standard packaging" is just the replacement cover slipped over the Marge clamshell head... it'd be nice if it was a fold-out digipak like the first 5 were. (If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me.)

Does anyone have a picture of the mail-in cover for the last season? I havent bought it yet and am wondering what it is before I do...
covers
So they're going to give us the option for this one? Nice, because I liked the cover from the 1st-5th seasons.
This is still one of my all time favorites. I rather watch this than Family Guy, mostly because it was the first sitcom I ever watched.
I still need to pick up the 5th and 6th seasons.

I can't wait for this. I recently just got season 1-6
These are coming out quicker now which is cool, now all we need is Malcolm in the Middle.

Looks like you will have to choose which one you want. I like the molded heads personally.

Dammit why do I always come in late for my all time fave show?
Still haven't gotten the chance to buy Season 6 though. Hope they include that normal, foldable box for Season 7 included inside, cause I already know this is gonna be Marge's Head.

So for a die hard fan who wants all of them at a Best Buy price of around $30 it's gonna cost $510 bucks when its all said and done. If you pay the not "on sale" price of $40, that comes out to $680. Just too much to buy.
$30 isn't really that expensive for a 4 disk set containing 22 episodes (11 hours of entertainment). It is actually a lot more reasonable than the $15 you usually pay for a new 2 hour (or less) movie.

dont worry, this is the second year they release 2 season sets...so at this rate, it'll take 5 years just to catch up to the current season on tv and let's say the show runs 20 seasons....another 4 or 5yrs so see, you have a lot of time to save money to buy them..lol

They released an image a while back of seasons 6-10.
If memory serves me right, It goes Homer, Marge, Lisa, Maggie and Bart
I don't like these shells, but at least they're doing the cardboard send-in. Still, it'd be nice to have something a bit nicer than that thing of cardboard.

Who wants to bet that the standard packaging will be a cardboard mail-in foldout to slip the 'Marge' clamshell set in?
Still, packaging complainsts aside, I might get this one. I really liked "Bart Sells His Soul" and "Summer of 4 Ft 2".
