The Nostalgia Critic recently did an interesting episode where he compared the film to The Prince of Egypt: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/tha...
I haven't seen both films, but he actually makes them sound like they're equally good. I will have to see The Ten Commandments eventually because it's an important film.

so there's a two disc blu-ray set and the only extras are commentaries and a newsreel? lemme guess, they actually went and split the movie onto two discs? or is that documentary included and gets it own disc?
i'm no fan of this movie but i surely hope with the room blu-ray offers, that we'll never see a movie split in half ever again. its bad enough they did that with dvd when they had enough room but split the movie anyway because of retarded commentaries. it be sad to think it still happens.

yeah they are pretty similar but considering the source content then it sorta makes sense. lol

Paramount's next BIG edition like this HAS to be Titanic!! Let's get a move on already!
So?
The only thing that differs from this and the 2006 "50th Anniversary Collection" is a seventy-five minute documentary?

And, you know, the Blu-ray.

The silent version is only on the six disc set ?
Judging from some of the postings, response for this release seems tepid. I thought it would generate good buzz. I, for one, am pretty excited about the 6 disc set and plan to get it when it comes out.
What's with the Tablet? Is that the production photos album or just replica of the tablet?
I think the tablets are what holds the discs. Sort of like the rock-like box from the first release of Fraggle Rock or the tv carved from from that is the box for the Flintstones complete series.

Didn't they already have a re-release for the Titanic on Blu-Ray? I could be wrong. They still have to release the first three Indiana Jones movies on Blu-Ray.
Anyway enough about predicting future release dates, let's get on to this movie...
...I actually use to see this movie a lot on TV and I remember it has been a favorite to my family. This movie has been growing onto me, so probably a first day purchase for the blu!!!

That cover art is an eye sore. Not a fan of the "history channel special in the bargain bin" style font for the title either.
