This collection contains such classics as MERRY MAVERICKS (1951), a reworking of PHONY EXPRESS (1943) featuring Red Morgan and his gang of bandits; SELF MADE MAIDS (1950), in which the Stooges not only play themselves but assume the roles of their fiancées, their fiancées' father (played by Moe) and their three babies; and DON'T THROW THAT KNIFE (1951), which features Larry, Moe and Shemp in brilliant improvisation with nothing but household items while
confined to a single room.

I'm a huge Stooge fan and while I am exceedingly happy Sony is putting these chronological sets out, I can't even begin to say how disappointed I am that there are never any extras. There's so much they could do -- commentaries by film historians/critics/surviving family members and a poster gallery are only the tip of the iceberg of bonus features I'd love to hear/see. Sigh ...
I agree, I love these sets but the lack of extras is unfortunate. Maybe in the last set they will have a third disc with extras, or maybe just release another 2-Disc set thats nothing but extras. Anyway, I'll be picking this up.
day 1 buy for me
Prediction: They will include great extras when they get to the Joe Besser years.
