The only reason this movie got nominated for Golden Globes is because so that Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie could attend the Globes. There's litteraly no other explanation, the movie sucked big time!
I for one enjoyed the movie immensely. It's meant to be a modern version of "To Catch a Thief"; it has Angelina Jolie with an amount of graciousness and screen presence comparable to that of Grace Kelly, solid direction from von Donnersmarck and gorgeous European locations. The movie has been playing for a month and a half straight in the shopping mall theater where I saw it.
All that being said, "To Catch a Thief" definitely had a better script, and Johnny Depp (whom I never liked) feels miscast, but then he plays a plot device rather than a character, so he's OK. And I certainly understand why people would be disappointed to get this movie as the first Hollywood flick from the director of "Lives of Others", but then I think he had a better fortune than the other German director of "Downfall", who ended up making "The Invasion".

This looked terrible but I would like to see it eventually. Johnny Depp is a great actor.
On the ad it should say "Received national attention when made fun of on the Golden Globes".
i love Angelina but i'll wait to see this on cable.
I'm pretty sad that Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck directed this. His other film, "The Lives of Others", is a masterpiece. This is another case of a promising foreign director making a poor American movie.
I sure hope Kim Ji-woon breaks the trend with "Last Stand".

Heard it was the worst movie of the year even with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie.
This film is just an excuse to make a film with "two of the hottest stars around", that's really it.
When I first saw the trailer for this way back when, I felt he was severely miscast in this role. Happy to see that most critics agreed with my sentiment upon its release.
I'd watch it for Angelina, but it may not even be added to the queue. If someone happens to invite me over to watch it, then I'll give it a shot.

At least they got one thing right. And that is the cover!
Heard this one sucked but I really wanted to see it. I'll probably wait till cable.
I actually really liked this movie, and I don't really understand all the hatred towards it. It definitely wasn't worthy of any award nominations (especially not as a "comedy") but it was fun, entertaining and easy on the eyes (both Angelina Jolie and the scenic locations).
It was an okay movie, but yes, the ending was lazy. What was rounding out to be adequately dramatic just turned comical for comedy's sake. It escaped me why it was nominated for awards. Nothing was exceptional about it.

Will the Blu-Ray come with a version of the movie that's actually good?
Awful movie.
Glad to see Sony start up the combo packs again. They used to put some digital copies but seemed to stop that.
This looked terrible.
I enjoyed this one, aside from the lazy ending. Might pick up the BD/DVD combo if it's priced below $25.
No deleted scenes? This got some bad reviews but I still enjoyed it. It wasn't ground breaking but entertaining enough. I think seeing it once is enough but I could see this looking damn nice in HD
