I can't wait to get this set. I sold my Matrix set and have been waiting for this. Won't bother with the limited edition version though.

is it me, or are most of these pictures too dark to make out?
The images.
It isn't just you Liran. I can make out most of the images but the text is really hard to read.
I invested in the three Matrix movies, and the Animatrix. I truly enjoyed them all, but I do not see anything here to really make me want to change out my current collection. Maybe if they had added new scenes, or something to extend it.
To me, this is just a pricey double dip, with nothing to replace what I already have.

Will they offer these DVDs individually, or do you have to buy the whole set? I see no reason to buy them over again except for The Matrix. I would like to get that new digital transfer into my collection. =-)
There are deleted scenes...

If there are, then... maybe. I know what I read at the top of the page says deleted scenes, but I have read elsewhere that there are not any. Even Amazon's site, linked through this page, does not mention the extra scenes. Is there an official anouncement about the contents of the movie being just a new tranfer, or with new scenes added?

Yeah, basically you would be buying 60% of what you already have. I wouldnt buy this myself, but I stuck it on my christmas list so hopefully someone will buy it for me.

The deleted scenes are taken from the Enter the Matrix game. They haven't been added back into Reloaded though. All three films are exactly as they were, although I think they tinkered around with the colours a little on the original Matrix...
They're not deleted scenes as such, merely the footage from the Enter the Matrix video game. They were originally announced as being re-inserted into Reloaded, but this is not the case. They are separate from the film.

They've done a bit more than that. It's a new digital transfer, and it looks a lot closer to the sequels in terms of quality now. Suits that appeared brown before, now appear grey (as they should). Contrast is much better and the brightness has been altered. There also appears to be more detail in the image.

Yep, and they are quite boring scenes too... just endless dialogue.

Nice menus for all the extras, but I'm going to stick with what I have.
Thought they would have inserted those Reloaded extra scenes though.
Or atleast have a "branching option.

Hopefully they will release the original film and its new transfer seperatley in the near future; I'd really like to get it but if purchasing this set is the only way I can they can keep it and I'll just stick to my original disc.
Something else to keep in mind. The WB has jumped on the HD-DVD bandwagon. You know a new HD edition of these movie will be coming out sometime with in the next few years. I'll wait until they put these DVDs out again in HD-DVD; Or if Blue-Ray is the winner, then Blue-ray
Bonus is no matter what the format wins, DTS is the audio standard! =-)

I'm buying this, even though I have all three movies, because of the commentary track from the philosophers, which I've heard is fascinating and really meaty, and the cut scenes from the video game, which I don't have. Also, the new transfer for the first movie looks amazing.
No thanks. I only have the Animatrix though. I enjoyed the first two movies but haven't even seen the third one.
I like the menus.

I have put off on buying Reloaded and Revolutions because I knew a Boxset was coming so getting this 10 Disc Set is great value for money but I am still holding off pre-ordering it until I find out if the UK R2 release has The Matrix uncut. If it is still cut then I will go for the R1 or R4 Edition.
wait,wait,wait...
They cut the Matrix in the UK? It was such a harmless film, what did they cut?
I'd hardly call it 'harmless', seeing as it features the cold-blooded murder of dozens of innocent people. Anyway, they cut head butts, because the BBFC have a thing about them (imitable techniques).
You're right Chris, it isn't harmless. I'm just use to hearing problems with sex scenes and graphic violence, so I was a little confused. I suppose random machine gunning of innocent cops is a little over the top, and the movie does earn its 'R' rating. Is there any reason they can't put the headbutts back in and just rate it '18' in the UK? I'm really interested with the whole multi-regional ratings thing. I wish there was a book.
I'm waiting till they re-release The Matrix, because I don't feel the need or want to have the sequels or the countless discs with a bunch of nerds sayin 'ooo look what we can do with computers'.

One word - money. It's the same as the US in that respect. The lower the rating, the more people can come and see it. The only difference is that over here it's a legal thing, whereas the US ratings system is voluntary (as I understand it). That's why you guys get unrated cuts with stuff that would never pass the censors in the UK.
Having said that, the BBFC has relaxed its policy somewhat in recent years. Personally I'm of the opinion that adults over the age of 18 should be allowed to watch whatever they want, without some moral guardian telling them what is 'safe'.

I'm getting this for Christmas. Even though I own the first one on tape, the sequels on DVD, and The Animatrix on DVD. I loved The Matrix movies so this is a must buy for me. I don't double dip often or at all. But for this (all those features) I will.
I'd only get The Matrix and The Animatrix. I found the sequels to be garbage.
I shall get this, but not this side of Christmas. Unless I get it for Christmas... heh.
Since at the moment I only have vhs copies of the first two films, I am very much looking foward to the new DVD set (in Widescreen, the way it's meant to be viewed).
Bear in mind we only just got Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles too.. we used to have Hero Turtles before as apparently ninjas are too violent or something. And the one with the nunchuks (sp?) is now allowed those back asthe BBFC seem to have relaxed their view on connected sticks with a chain.
"IF YOU SEE VIOLENCE ON TV YOU MIGHT DO IT YOURSELF. FACT."
Also, you need full kevlar armour to play conkers.. apparently..

Can't wait...
I sell all my previous DVDs for that, and I'm sure I'll be happy!
Loved all the movies and the Anime. I'm not the greater Matrix Fan but I really love the saga and the story. Reloaded and Revolution are, in my opinion, very great. The story as a double sence when you watch it several times, and I loved this!

Ratings are lame
Here here, Chris. They're having big problems with European films getting NC-17 ratings here lately (like Young Adam, and Bad Education because they have *gasp* NUDITY in them). If you get an NC-17, (almost)no one will exhibit your film, nor will (almost) anyone advritise it. It is nice to live in a country where I can choose to buy Ninja Turtles on DVD in 1999, and I did. I love that movie.
