Warner Home Video has announced the third season of The Wire which stars Wood Harris, Dominic West, Lance Reddick, Sonja Sohn and Wendell Pierce. The five-disc package will be available to own from the 8th August, and should retail at around $99.98. Each of the episodes will be presented in 1.33:1 full frame, along with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround tracks. Extras will include audio commentaries, episodic previews and recaps, and more. We've attached the official region one package artwork below:

Never seen the show, but that's some cool artwork.
Easily the best show on TV right now. This season was the best of the bunch and some major things happened. Nice artwork, prefer the original myself, either I will buy this.
I just wish the HBO DVD sets weren't so overpriced. Even if I can find it for $60ish, for 12 episodes, that's too much compared to almost any non-HBO series.
I recorded the episodes onto DVD when they aired, so I guess it's Netflix for me to check out the extras.

I`ve never seen this, but I can say that this is the best artwork for a TV show to come out in a very long time. I`m surprised it`s $99.99. That`s pretty steep. If it weren`t for the price, I`d blind buy seasons 1-3. You see what good art can do for a product.

Generally, during the week it's released the DVD can be purchased for almost half of the SRP, sometimes even less than that! If not, just search on Ebay and Deep Discount DVD! That's what I do if I don't get it during "release week".

Couldn't agree more! By far the best season, so far. I was so disappointed by some of the events that took place.
I don't think the next season will be able to top this one, but I'm looking forward to its return just the same.

Agreed. But David Simon knows how to keep things interesting. I just hope Omar is in this season a little bit more. He is my favorite and Michael K. Williams is awesome playing him.

Interesting to read that this is the best season so far. Loved the first two and thought that they were amazing, so I can`t wait to see this one.
