I missed it in theaters. Will definitely check it out on Blu-ray. I love werewolf stuff, and Emily Blunt. I agree that she should have been the Black Widow. Anyway, I hope I enjoy it. I've heard very mixed things.

Regret not seeing this in the theater. Will be getting this. I'll gladly take this over the fake, romanticized, teenage were-pups of New Moon, anyday of the week!!
If I have enough money left over, I'll buy "The Wolfman" on Blu-ray. To enjoy it, you have to keep this in mind: it's a fun popcorn flick. Many people were disappointed because this is what they had in mind: epic movie. What's not to like? It's gore-friendly, we see a side view of Emily Blunt's breast, and the special effects are kick ass. Not only that, but the Blu-ray includes 2 versions of The Wolfman, the classic version of Wolfman, a digital copy, and a plethora of special features. All for the price of one Blu-ray disc. Sounds like a kick ass deal if you ask me.
Many people complain that DVD's don't get special features and Blu-ray does, when that's how business works. If the studios keep putting extras in DVD's, how are the consumers prompt to buy the Blu-ray? I mean, if you ask me, it makes perfect sense. Even Blu-rays will be extinct in the next 5 years because 3-D Blu-ray will be next. So that's why DVD's are getting a lousy treatment.

I really liked this movie, and the Wolf Man is my favorite Universal monster. I will buy it the first day.
Well, if you want to see Emily's breasts you can just watch the lesbian romance MY SUMMER OF LOVE.
Tis true Nevunder, your point's are well seen and I do agree. I guess I just feel a bit "bullied" into bluray because of the huge imbalance in features anymore. I grew up with VHS, toyed around with Beta tapes for the fun of it, then the shift to DVD, now the shift to Bluray, after that the shift to whatever, I guess I am just a bit worn out on the format shifts so to speak. I know it's bound to happen but in days of standard editions, special editions, super special editions, deluxe editions, limited editions, extended editions, you can only buy so many movies so many times. Now we not only have those and formats but we're adding 3D into the mix with different methods, different "glasses", different modes of compression etc.
I know this isn't the place to rant about it but list of features just got me thinking more into it then I should have, my apologies.

Or you could RENT IT, don't you think?
The fact that you are not interested enough to spend that much money on purchasing a copy of your own does not give you the right neither to steal it online nor to brag about it here.
I am all for a free Internet and P2P services as a wonderful way to discover things and get hold of some much coveted items not available otherwise, but that childish, selfish sense of entitlement and instant gratification is unacceptable and it's just giving a "justifiable cause" to those preaching for control.
On the other hand, I must say I have to agree with you about the unfair, greedy way studios are forcing the format to consumers, and they certainly deserve some kind of boycott. It's just that I have a hard time accepting so easily that the end justifies the means.

I feel your pain, bro. It certainly doesn't help that we live in an era (the digital age) when everything - consumer products, trends, information - seems to be pummeling us at such an accelerated pace....Seriously, 10+ years on and the Wachowski brothers are looking more and more like future forecasters: every day we move closer and closer to living life in The Matrix....People may laugh, but in 15 or 20 years, a film like Surrogates may end up being very prophetic. Japan has been perfecting robotic technology for years now and they have some pretty advanced stuff out there right now, today....
Damn, that was a bit of a digression. My apologies...

Personally, I also am annoyed by them trying to force Blue Ray down our throats. The players are more expensive, the DVD's are more expensive... it's an enormous amount of money for, in my opinion, not a lot. I've seen the two contrasted and there's not near enough picture improvement to make me want to re-invest a $5,000+ collection in Blue Ray.
Bummer that they are shafting the fans who only have DVD, though -- that's not cool. And it's not going to convince me to buy a more expensive machine.
Anyway -- movie-wise, I look forward to renting this. I guess if I like it, I can live without the extras.

Aww man...FINALLY! Universal is now doing digital copies. Let's just hope Paramount furthers it down with digital copies and then eventually Dreamworks does it with their animated movies plus any of their other new release titles.

What the hell are you talking about? Universal has ALWAYS done digital copies. Hellboy II, The incredible hunk and Mammia Mia! are some examples.

Awesome cover art. Will be buying.
This movie bites & not in the way the filmmakers intended it to be. Thouroughly dissapointed.
this is an obvious ploy to get people to buy into Bluray
I wont..I really dont need to see such great details like the wart on a persons face or a 5 oclock shadow..
I havent seen this movie, but I heard it wasnt good..probably rent it & go from there

I'm not a fan of DVDs getting short-shifted on features as a way of trying to force consumers to upgrade to Blu, although I fully understand why they do it. If I could afford a Blu-Ray player, or PS3 I'd have one, but I can't. Sure, I could wait to buy this (and other) release(s) but I don't feel I should have to.
With The Wolf Man, it's the features I'm interested in, the film was pretty poor. I wouldn't mind so much if the DVD had a few more features, the alternate endings, Rick Baker feature and a couple of the werewolf featurettes, then I probably wouldn't complain. At least in the UK we get better coverart for this release, even if the BBFC/IRE certificates will totally mess it up.

Two reasons I despise that cover: A) Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving aren't even listed above the title and B) Anthony Hopkins is on the side, not the MAIN character, Benicio del Toro. Stuff like that really bothers me.
As for the movie, I really enjoyed it. Some parts were laughably bad (especially some of the wolf effects) but other parts were genuinely scary. And I adore Emily Blunt so her performance made the movie even more likable.
