Thanks Tom, been looking forward to both X-Files announcements. Those are some good Xtras, pity there isn't a commentary from Anderson/Duchovny though.
I will get both FTF and IWTB on BD, delighted to add them to my XF collection. I wonder if Fox BD are region free or locked to A. But hopefully in the UK/Ire we get similar features.
I enjoyed IWTB but unfortunately it kind of bombed, hopefully it makes a lot of cash on Dvd/BD so we get the 2012 conclusion.

I love The X-Files, but this movie disappointed me greatly. It did nothing for me, other than "this was the best Chris Carter could come up with?". Now, I'm wondering what here actually warrants a big special edition. I'd rather have a SE of the far superior first movie.
I actually liked this movie... it was definitely a bit low key, but it was great to see Mulder and Scully back together again, and I loved Billy Connelly. Can't wait to buy the 3-disc set.
I enjoyed the flick. I'm an xfile fan, but not hard core. I went in knowing it wouldn't have any mythology which was a bummer (I mean come on, the alien mythology is what, in it's prime, the xfiles did best, and it's been so long since we had a good alien flick in theaters; betcha 20th would have loved the ease of marketing this if it was an alien film instead of what it was).
However, the budget wasn't too big, I think it'll make it, plus some, back when all is said and done. And Fox knew it wasn't going to make a lot of cash off this; it truly was nice to see them just greenlight it for the fans and let Carter do his thing.
I'll pick this and the first one up when they come out; here's hoping Fox has the same attitude come time for the next film.

I may be alone on this, but being a HARDCORE X fan I thought this was the best movie of the summer! It had everything chris had promised and nothing more cant wait for number 3!!! blu ray for me BTW
This film was released around the wrong time. In July with all the summer blockbusters. If it was released around a good time I may have seen this in theaters. I will give it a rent no doubt. It sounds interesting. But seriously 3-discs? It's actually good for paying $35 but are we really being too much here?
PASS!

3rd disc is simply a digital copy.

Till I saw this movie I have only seen TWO Episodes of the show,Never saw the first movie, watched this and.......LOVED IT!!! I cant wait to see the ENITRE series now!!! TOTAL Buy for me!!!
I enjoyed it. In comparison to the AWESOME standalone episodes, this was lightweight in comparison to those and the superior first film. Although I think they should've gone with a supernatural creature rather the Russian Frankenstein angle they were aiming at.
And will this be a single-sided disc with a branching feature for the unrated version, or will it be like "Turistas" (a dual-sided disc with the theatrical cut on Side A and the unrated on Side B )?

I don't want to believe.
My only problem with I Want to Believe was that it didnt take full advantage of the big screen, like Fight the Future did. But i enjoyed the movie nonetheless and it was a nice throwback to small character driven sci-fi mysteries from the 70s.
ill pick up the regular dvd. i wont have time to watch 3 discs worth of special feature lol

The X-Files: I Want To Believe There Is A Cure For Sex Addiction.
Never understood why this came out the week after dark knight (hugely unwise move) - this is a fall movie (October would have been the perfect time to release this in theatres), it didn't have a chance against the batman behemoth. Really refreshing to revisit these characters and the lack of CGI was nice as well... a rarity these days. And Gillian Anderson rules.

not a big fan of the single disc cover art. looks more like an x-men movie cover.
The cover would be perfect if... they REMOVE the tagline at the top, on the bottom left and the BD-Live logo on the right. Uggghh, come on! Can the cover use more ads to raise home video purchases?
Oh and might I add this movie also had one of the BEST theratrical Traliers ALL year!!!
I enjoyed this movie greatly! I was sad to see that not all of the fans loved it as much as I do. I'll definately pick this up the day it comes out!!!
I'm a huge X file fan and outside of seeing Mulder and Scully on screen again and it feeling right this movie was pap!
It was barely even an X file and the elements that were there just fell to the wayside.
What a missed oppotunity this was and released in cinema's at totally the wrong time of the year - but for those features I'm still gonna get it, along with Fight the Future.

Locked.

Locked.
Saying that, Deception was recently confirmed REGION FREE and that's a new release FOX title. All very strange.
Decent movie. I will pick it up.
This movie was a massive disappointment (and I'm a huge X-files fan). Just hope they make a 3rd film resolving the 2012 mystery.
The whole film felt like a TV movie of the week and it has one of the most dull endings in movie history (ten times worst than the Mod Squad movie).

It was a long feature-length non-conspiracy episode. Scully look great...the new FBI couple (with Xzibit) were underused, which was bad (I think) for the movie...
It is not a bad movie, is just that we wanted a conspiracy movie and didn't get it, even when we were told it wasn't going to be one...so what, wait for the 2012 colonization?? YAY!
BTW, great features on both the 3-disc and the blu-ray, they did go overboard with this, I'm glad, and this put to shame many of the 'new' releases...

Why cant we get the isolated score on the DVD?
I was disappointed with this film too. love the amount of extras listed. I'll go for the three disc.
I just hope XF3 goes back to the alien colonization plotline becuse it was why I watched the show for and loved the first film. The stand alones were hit-and-miss.

they never claimed it would be mythology. going as far back as a few years ago when they started saying they were writing, they said the plan was to make a stand alone this time. so there was no surprises in that dept.
but least to me, the problem isnt that the movie was stand alone, there have been MANY great stand alone episodes, the problem was the story they chose. being a theatrical movie, this begged for some cool horror/monster story. what we got was too subtle for theaters, especially for summer. but even if it had been released this fall it still woulda done poorly. it barely got promoted to the point some people didnt even know the movie existed. so fan support or not, fox just didnt even try.

I was a huge X-files fan when i was little. I havent seen FtF and i missed this. I'll blind buy both.

but whats even cooler is that they also announced the first movie's blu-ray debut for the same date, it isnt as loaded but it has a good amount of extras, especially considering the original release was pretty much bare bones.
