Paramount's timing is impeccable: Toshiba announces the end of the HD DVD format by March...and this film comes out on HD DVD April 8th. Love the film, I'll wait for the Blu-ray.
Agreed, I will wait for the inevitable Blu-Ray release.
I can't believe there is absolutely nothing on the 1 disc edition. And all the special features on the 2-disc edition could have been on the 1 disc. And the artwork isn't impressive either.
This movie disappointed me greatly. The first hour was decent, then the next hour was extremely boring, and then the final half-hour was great. I just thought it was not balanced well. Daniel Day-Lewis' performance was amazing though and this movie would not have had anything going for it without him. I will not be picking this up.
Yep, Paramount has lousy timing ... I guess Toshiba did not inform them of the decision to withdraw from HD DVD format. Sheesh - to think Paramount was silly enough to go HD DVD exclusive and Toshiba was too afraid to tell them that they have abandoned the format(Michael Bay must be pleased that Transformers will now get a Blu Ray release).
Surely a quote will decorate the bottom of this artwork by the time it hits the shelves. Other that that, it's a great strong cover from a great strong poster.
Daniel Day-Lewis won the SAG award, did he?
Why does his face look so CG? I noticed this on the original poster, it's nuts.
awesome cover
Easily one of the top three films of the year. I saw it twice at the cinema and was mezmerized both times. I love that they stuck with the poster artwork, instead of some photo-shopped quote-fest, although I'm sure it will have a "Academy Award Winner - Best Actor, Daniel Day-Lewis" tag on it by April.
It looks like he's taking a c**p. But otherwise, this was my favorite movie of 2007.

Yeah, it looks like a carefully modeled villain in a next gen game or something...

hell yes!!! HD DVD only!!
GOtta find something to be happy about today!
Second best movie of the year for me! (First is Sweeney Todd). I loved the film and Daniel Day-Lewis was extraordianry, I really hope it wins bext pic over everyone's favorite, No Country. I will def. be buying the 2-Disc and I'm going to assume the coverart is going to be the same as the single with a border around it (like Babel).
I drank your milkshake!
This movie ruled, Daniel Day is the goddamn man. I'd watch him peel potatoes for 3 hours.

Fantastic movie!!Daniel Day Lewis definitely deserves to win the lead actor Oscar.A depressing poignant film that shows oil barons for what they are.The final scene is amazing.Great cinematography and directing in this film as well.
The cover is pretty much the only art you are ever shown of the film.So I am not surprised they used it.
"If you have a milkshake and I have a milkshake and I have a straw and my straw reaches across the room and starts to drink your milkshake. I drink your milkshake! I drink it up!"

I was in utter awe after seeing this movie. Not many movies leave me like that. Definitely one of the weirdest greatest movies I've seen. A definite buy for the 2 disc edition on April 8th.
He looks so badass in that cover, curious to see the 2 disc cover art.

Awesome! I loved this film and can't wait to buy the 2-Disc edition!
best cover of them all.
This was brilliant. I can't wait for the 2-disc!
So will each version come with a free milkshake?
On a serious topic, I thought There Will Be Blood was the best movie of 2007 and will be there on day 1 for the 2-disc. That History of Petroleum documentary sounds amazing.

I just saw this movie a few days ago.
One of the finest of 2007!
Will definitely be getting the 2-disc edition.
Although, the artwork probably isn't better than the excellent one-disc artwork.

My favorite movie in along time!! Will get the 2 disc!!! I hope it gets Blu treatment sooner or later.
Can't wait to see the 2-disc artwork. TWBB is easily one of the best films I've ever seen. The year's best!
Not only is it this years best film, it's the best of the century besides the Lord of the Rings trilogy. That release is fast because I know a theater that will still be playing this by that time rolls around. Way cool.
If you have a milkshake, and I have a milkshake and I have a straw and my straw reaches acrosssssssssss the room starts to drink your milkshake: I drink your milkshake. I drink it up!
oh man I'm seeing it again this weekend

One of the best movies I've ever seen also, cant wait for the 2 disc!
This was an awesome film. Daniel Day-Lewis is the greastest actor ever.
Best film since Pulp Fiction. Stupid how they can't add those puny features to one disc.

Quote: A sprawling epic of family, faith, power and oil, THERE WILL BE BLOOD is set on the incendiary frontier of California’s turn-of-the-century petroleum boom. The story chronicles the life and times of one Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), who transforms himself from a down-and-out silver miner raising a son on his own into a self-made oil tycoon. When Plainview gets a mysterious tip-off that there’s a little town out West where an ocean of oil is oozing out of the ground, he heads with his son, H.W. (Dillon Freasier), to take their chances in dust-worn Little Boston. In this hardscrabble town, where the main excitement centers around the holy roller church of charismatic preacher Eli Sunday (Paul Dano), Plainview and H.W. make their lucky strike. But even as the well raises all of their fortunes, nothing will remain the same as conflicts escalate and every human value – love, hope, community, belief, ambition and even the bond between father and son – is imperiled by corruption, deception and the flow of oil.
