Does anyone else remember the days when all the kids in school around the age of 6 or 7 had a plastic replica of one of those swords? This series was so amazing! Modern children's animation looks lazy by comparison, in terms of visuals and storytelling.

these sets are terribly overpriced, and the quality has been disgusting. I can't imagine they would do any different for the 3rd set that they would for the first 2- unless you are a hardcore fan, I would avoid this...
I love cartoons, todays though are nothing but c**p, granted I like SONICX coz iam a fan of the original material but to me there isnt anything now. Also this is cryin out to be turned into a film, it would be so amazing to see all the Thundercats on the screen however it must be epic like the cartoons and get rid of snarff (otherwise it wont just be JAR JAR that we'd want to kill). To be honest out of the great 3 of the 80's cartoons this has the biggest potential I know TRANSFORMERS is in 2007 with Spielberg and Bay but I feel were only gonna get a 90minute feature. This could be the next Rings cross fingers people soon it will happen.

Somethin' tells me that you've been smokin' somethin' funny to believe that Thundercats is even on the far-horizon on some studio's plan to make a feature film, live-action or 'toon.
I was originally planning to get these sets, but word of mouth, including what mikull said above, I have decided to pass on these releases. The thing is if BCI could do a fantastic job on the Masters of the Universe sets, why couldn't WB do a good job with these sets?

I have tons of episodes on Beta from when I was little. I havent had a beta machine since like 91, and I have never been able to get them on vhs so this is a big thing for me. I remember renting the beta tape of the first couple episodes so much from the local video store that my father finaly bought it for me, lol. Good Times.
And I to had a sword, and a belt, and everything else you can think of, lol

I am in complete agreement with you when you say that cartoons of today are C**P! Truthfully, they're beyond c**p! LOL
The only cartoon that I look forward to is JLU, and the scheduling of that by Cartoon Network is horrible.
Both quality and content on some of these shows is awful. It's like they just say we'll throw this together and put it out there (kinda like some movies in the theaters), they (the buying public) don't care.
There was talk at one time(sometime in the last two years),of bringing this show to the big screen. Not sure what became of it though. I don't think this would translate well to the big screen though. Look at Masters of the Universe. That was awful! I can't believe they actually want to try it again! LOL

Oh, forgot to add this. Fellas, as far as prices go, there's always Ebay, Half.com, or you can just purchase it the first week it's released! You'll more than likely get it for about half price before it's jacked up to the SRP.
I cant wait.
802 minutes of Thundercats action!
Makes me hate the South Park seasons. Those have, what, like 13-14 episodes tops and are 40$ new in stores.

$65?! Sorry, not worth the price just for nostalgia sake.

you're right about half and ebay- and I know the srp is always higher than the stores usually carry it for-- but when the first set came out my wife rushed me to the store (she's a huge fan.. i'm more of a transformers/he-man type of guy) -- and even the release week sales left this thing unreasonably expensive for what you get...
i was just so disappointed with time put into these sets. I mean, yeah- its one of the greats from our youth- I also agree the 'toons today can't hold a candle to the stuff from the '80s... but I still preferred to see my hard earned dollars paying for something worth the price tag.
the transfer is terrible, and I'm not overly critical. no attempts to fix sound, errors- you name it. just a warning-

A great series of yesteryear - I may have bought it at that price IF they included the WHOLE season...
Way overpriced. Plus I caught this about a year ago on Cartoon Network and it was definately NOT the show I remembered it being.
too expensive
i would agree. For what you get, which is a poor transfer, no extras and little effort, this set is simply a ripoff. I owned the very first set, which was just awful, as far as DVD is concerned, and have skipped out on the 2nd set because of it. WB has started treating DVD like VHS 2.0, DVD by now has just high standards, and you would think a company like WB could at least meet them. I know and realize I am pre-judging the DVD, but having owned the first one, and seen enough of the 2nd one, trust me, WB will do NOTHING special with this one.
I'll wait for the bargain bin.

Thundercats..... HOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooo........
