Titanic (US - DVD R1)
Paramount has now provided us with a look at art for the 10th Anniversary DVD
Title: Titanic (IMDb)
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio
Released: 20th November 2007
SRP: Price TBC
Further Details:
Paramount Home Entertainment has confirmed a release date for a 10th Annivesary edition the James Cameron directed Titanic which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, and Kate Winslet. The two-disc special edition will be available to own from the 20th November. I'm afraid Paramount hasn't revealed the contents of this one yet, although early indications suggest that no additional exclusive extra material will be included. We'll try and bring you official confirmation on that shortly. Stay tuned. For now though, here's the artwork:

Damn.
Well, I'd assume if they wanted to make good on some exclusivity, they will make an HD version....at least I hope.

Hoping for the news on HD DVD as well
Titanic would look awesome in Hi-Def

Again?? How can it be better than 4 Disc Deluxe Edition from two years ago???
It can´t.

That one was the special edition to end all special editions of this film too.

The only way this would be worth picking up would be if it was a different cut. In terms of extras, I can't see how this 2-disc edition will be better than the 4-disc edition.
I'd like to know what happens should this film be released on a hi-def format. In the States it is distributed by Paramount, now HD DVD exclusive, and around the world it is distributed by 20th Century Fox, a Blu Ray exclusive. Yet another fundamental flaw in this disgraceful format war. No move to hi-def for me until (or if) it is resolved.
Why? The latest release is cheap and good enough to be definitive.
WTF?! now this is a SHOCKING NEWS.the announcement of Hot Fuzz 3-disc set was enough.
i have the 5-disc set Virgin exclusive (UK) and i think it's THE MOST DISAPPOINTING "SPECIAL EDITION" i have in my collection and i have over 700 DVDs.hopefully, this new release has some REAL extras.

from DVDCompare:
"Sadly, already announced feature-length documentary (produced by Ed Marsh), and "Deleted scenes via seamless branching into the film" were dropped for some reason. There are rumors, that the long documentary was complete, but was dropped by Cameron himself."
Probably that is what this release will contain
And Fox owns the international rights, Paramount owns the north american rights

My guess is that it's just a regular nice DVD with maybe one or two new extras, but basically a cheap version as to getting the 3 disc.
(Also probably has the movie on one disc like before, I'd imagine that bothered some people. I just kept both versions.)

I suspect it will just be a re-release of the the 2 Disc SE already out there, the one with most extras missing.
Hmm, I wonder what the new cover art will look like...
when did they release a 4 disc version?
The only one they had for sale was a 3 disc edition

You're right the 2005 version had only 3 discs
There's NO point in buying this newer version unless it comes out in HD. Are you listening Paramount?? These are the types of titles you should be releasing in HD. One of your biggest grossing movies of all time! Duh!!

Easily one of the most overrated movies of all time.
NO NO NO not again! I have TWO edition dvds of this movie. Why do they keep do this to us consumers. Man, making more money off of us!! Titantic I bought in 2005 was good enough, I hope.
Another one? Just bought the 3-disc on sale couple of weeks back, so no need, really, NO NEED!
Well I never got around to buying the existing release so I'll sit tight and see what's contained in this edition. For now, I still have the non-anamorphic barebones release.

HOWEVER, we mustn'd forget that "overrated" does not necessarily mean "bad." Also, I am vary of most people saying this and frivolously bashing this film, seeing how "chic," "stylish" and "cool" it has recently become to bash Titanic.
On the other note... ONLY TWO DISCS?!?!?! That's a disc less than the North American & Asian special editions, so how the hell are they planning to put the 90 minute documentary?

maybe this its a director's cut or something like that...I would pick it up only if the movie is differint as I already own the 3-disc.
Not needed if is a Two disc edition, when we already have a Three Disc out. BRING THE HIGH DEF EDITION PLEASE!
How will they release it in HD? Paramount (HD-DVD) is releasing it in America & Fox (BR) releases it in other parts of the world... Not gonna buy this.
I saw parts of this film. FYI, I actually never bought the 3-Disc Special Edition.
Paramount! Listen to the fans and release it in HD on HD DVD! I'd buy it!
Well this is certainly... Unexpected...
This is still a great movie, and I find it pretty shameful that people have jumped on the "it sucks" bandwagon just to be cool. Betcha didn't feel that way 10 years ago didya?
That being said, I have the initial release, never got around to getting the 3 disc, although I should soon as it's less that $15 now. But we'll see if this is any different.

Easily one of the most underrated movies of all time.
