Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced 1954 sci-fi Tobor the Great which stars Charles Drake, Karin Booth, and Billy Chapin. The Lee Sholem directed film will be available to own from the 13th May, and should retail at around $14.98. No extra material will be included. We've attached the artwork below:

Dr. Ralph Harrison, a member of the new government-appointed Civil Interplanetary Flight Commission, resigns in protest against the inhumane treatment being inflicted upon space ship pilots. Dr. Harrison and his colleague, Professor Nordstrom, develop an alternative robot spaceman – TOBOR – which is stolen by enemy agents. Only the scientists’ psychic link with the robot can save it from being reprogrammed for evil purposes.

Lionsgate sends me such random stuff I'll probably miss out on this one in favor of the new Bratz Princesses cartoon movie.

What th' hell? Doesn't Lionsgate still have the rights to the classic Republic serials? (Note the Republic logo on the spine of this DVD cover.) If they wanna release something with a friggin' ROBOT, release MYSTERIOUS DR. SATAN or ZOMBIES OF THE STRATOSPHERE. Sheesh. What ARE they smoking over there?
