Still no audio commentary?
Didn't the old Criterion LaserDisc have one?

I could have gone all day without hearing about a Tootsie reissue.
sure, just when I got the orignal dvd release... OH well, doesn't sound like it's worth a double dip, c**ppy extras.
Useless double-dip!

What an odd contribution to this discussion. There are 100's of DVD's that come out a month that I could give a rat's a-s-s about. But I certainly don't go and post something like this.

Great 80's comedy...But the xtras sound ho-hum especially with no commentary--I'll pass waiting till the flick turns 30
The only things I remembered about this film was Dustin Hoffman in drag and how big Jessica Lange's t**s were back in the day.
How abou these
There was an audio comentary by the director on a Criterion Laserdisc. I had that Laserdisc but that comentary from what I remember wasn't that great. However there should be other movies from 1982 that deserve a special edition including
"Victor/Victoria", "The World According to Garp", "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial(one with a comentary) "CreepShow","My Favorite Year" to name a few

If a "Making of..", deleted scenes, and screen test don't impress you, then what the hell does??

Don't know why it's useless, the original didn't have any nice extras.
I just got done watching the "Some Like It Hot" Collector's Edition, and was wondering when this was going to be released. (They mentioned that the top 2 comedy films by AFI were Some Like It Hot and Tootsie -- both men in drag films.

Artwork added...
It seems...empty and unbalanced.
Horrid cover.
Horrid cover.
*shoots self*
Wow, that has to be one of the worst covers I've ever seen. What's with the NYC skyline taking up most of the cover and the title so tiny in the upper left hand side. Just awful.
Really glad I didn't hold out for this. The extras aren;t worth it, and the old cover is much nicer.
Maybe it's just me, but that Hoffman chick on the cover is looking pretty hot...
I like the movie and I'll probably buy this, but that artwork is atrocious...they really need some new art directors...

Actually, the commentary by Sidney Pollack is very informative and enjoyable. I thought it was very good at the time, and I had it transferred by a friend of mine, to a dvd with the picture of the dvd on it, so I could enjoy it again. A real shame that Sony doesn't cough up the extra dough to buy the rights from Criterion for this comedy classic. I mean, how much extra would that cost anyway? Come on Sony!
