Quote: Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

The irony is that I can barely recall anything about this film.

horrible cover.
I really enjoyed this re-imagining. Great action, it looked amazing. I am looking forward to seeing it again on Blu ray.
I wanted to see it, out of curiosity. Then I bought the Blu-ray of the original movie during the opening weekend and I thought "Why bother?".
I might rent it out of my local Redbox but I wouldn't purchase it for indefinite viewing.

Looks like DVD buyers get the better deal here. The shorter the cut the better with any Len Wiseman film, no?
I needed to go to Rekall just to have the memory of how bad this movie was purged from my brain.
THAT'S the picture of Farrell they chose to place in the cover? Wow.
Still not as amateurish as this film, though.

Decent film, looked splendid, wasn't an offense to the name. Cover is appalling though. Colin's picture taken from a google image search?
There Is SOMETHING WRONG With The Colin Farrell Picture On Both Covers ,IT'S MORPHED Not Original.ALTHOUGH Action Sequences Of Total Recall(2012)WERE SUPERB.
Complete garage pass this one will end up in the dollar bin at Walmart sooner than later
They should have called it "Total Ripoff". Beckinsale was awesome, but the rest...ugh. I had high hopes for this as I love the "Underworld" movies and even liked "Live Free Or Die Hard", but Wiseman really messed this up. I would much rather see the more badass original film anyday. Jessica Biel also seems to be the kiss of death for any film these days.
this movie was decent. Kate was the best thing about it. i like Biel but her part was totally underdeveloped. this had pretty decent action and i loved the outside destroyed world. it would have been interesting to see more of that. i DO think that elevator thing that takes people from one world(?) level to another level was completely stupid though.
In Terms OF ACTION SEQUENCES dark knight rises WAS A COMPLETE C**P/GARBAGE'FILTH.Total Recall Had Amazing Action Sequences.
bad cover art. Kate Beckinsale was the best thing about it. The production design and action scenes were great. I hope the extended cut adds to the script which was very underwhelming in the theatrical version
The fact that it was rated PG-13 was enough for me to stay away. I'll stick with the classic original. "See ya at the pahty, Richter."
I agree about Beckinsale, she made the movie. I woulda preferred the movie be about her character even. The movie was otherwise forgettable. In a dream world she and Biel would make out nonstop for 90 odd minutes, now THAT would be an exteded cut I'd pay money to see.
Best part of the movie was the original poster art of Collin Farrell getting pixelled away, which tricked you into expecting a much better movie.
I guess they wanted to be honest about it now, so they went and made the cover art as bad as the movie itself.

also, i wish that Kate & Jessica had a one on one epic fight. i thought they were going to but what ended up in the movie (which was more of Colin/Jessica vs. Kate) wasn't very epic.
I preferred the action scenes the first time I saw them in I, Robot and Minority Report.
This didn't look good at all!!!
Horrible cover. Why not just use the poster that is similar and far better... stupid.

Way better lighting on the whole and Colin doesn't look like a perplexed idiot.

Thank you! I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed that.

Wait, so is the 'Extended Cut' not also Unrated? or at least rated R? or is it considered a special feature and therefore does not need to be rated? I was hoping some of the gunshhost and knife wounds would have made this film pack a bti more punch, considering that --as stated above-- the girl fight and the final fight were very underwhelming. I really wanted to see Biel and Beckinsale go at it in an uninterrupted block like Stone and Titcon did in the original. Ahh well.
Any one know about the extended cut??

Notice the banner at the bottom of the Blu-ray cover .... you will have a choice between the theatrical cut and the extended.

^not on the DVD, that's the joke. *SMH*
I really enjoyed this movie. Too bad it pretty much tanked in theatres. Will probably get the Director's Cut BD.
Extended cut? What are they gonna add, more chase scenes?
I hope that's not the final artwork, cus it would be the the worst cover I've ever seen. EVERYTHING is wrong with it.
The movie looks great visually, some real sci-fi eye-candy, too bad it didn't have a plot and was just one giant chase scene. Len Wiseman, you officially suck.

This cover is the same as the final movie poster artwork. The only difference is a variation of Colin Farrell's face in the back ground but everything else is the same.
This is one of those rare moments where I feel the original was better. It had more meaning, more depth, more character development. This one was just another sci-fi action film with nothing else.
