MGM Home Entertainment have announced the region one release of Touching the Void which is an award winning film from director Kevin Macdonald. The film tells the inspiring story of two mountain climbers, and will be available to own in shops from the 15th June this year. Retail will be set at around $29.98. The disc will include an anamorphic widescreen presentation along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track, a making of featurette, a What Happened Next featurette, Return to Siula Grande featurette and the original theatrical trailer. I saw a whole thing about the film and what really happened up there on IFC a while back. Looked really interesting.
Can't wait! But not sure why...
I have never even considered mountain climbing, but for some strange reason the subject in film has always captured my imagination. It may have been a documentary I saw many years ago called "Solo." I loved "Vertical Limit" and "Cliffhanger" so I guess I will be checking this one out.

Mario Van Peebles? I was referring to the 1972 Rock Climbing documentary by film-maker Mike Hoover (The Eiger Sanction).
