Lionsgate Home Entertainment has announced a Blu-ray release of Trainspotting for September 13th. Retail will be around $19.99. Extras will include an audio commentary with director Danny Boyle, actor Ewan McGregor, producer Andrew MacDonald and screenwriter Andrew Hodge, a “Making of Trainspotting” featurette, a Trainspotting Retrospective, interviews with director Danny Boyle, author Irvine Welsh, producer Andrew MacDonald and screenwriter John Hodge, Cannes Film Festival Interviews, deleted scenes with optional audio commentary, and a gallery. Quote: The film follows the life of Mark Renton (McGregor), a heroin addict who struggles with his addiction. Sweet. I've come so close to buying the Japanese disc on many occasions. First day for me.

I would love if they'd do a cover series not too dissimilar to the covers they did for Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs, except using the poster that had the cast with the numbers next to their name. Other than that, I'd rather not see s**t getting thrown across a wall in HD. Or that creepy roof baby.
Can't be worse than the UK release.
Own the UK release... more than happy with it. Trainspotting was never going to look fantastic on BR but it is a marginal step up from the DVD. It's just a shame the UK artwork never returned to the iconic line-up of the original Polygram DVD!
