Paramount Home Entertainment has announced Transformers Cybertron The Ultimate Collection which includes 52 episodes of the animated series. The 7-disc package will be available to own from the 22nd July. We have no word on whether or not extra material will be included on this one, but we'll let you know if we hear anything. For now though, here's our first look at the official package artwork:
Quote: Optimus Prime and the Autobots face the greatest danger in all eternity, a menace that threatens not only the survival of the Transformers, but the very existence of CYBERTRON and the universe itself. CYBERTRON, the TRANSFORMERS home planet is on the brink of destruction as an ominous Black Hole looms. In order to save their world, the TRANSFORMERS embark upon an intergalactic scavenger hunt across the universe searching for the lost Cyber Planet Keys. The evil DECEPTICONS, villains unlike any you have seen before, are in a race against the Heroic AUTOBOTS to recover these lost Cyber Planet Keys - keys that have the power to unlock the CYBERTRON planet itself, creating the greatest TRANSFORMER the universe has ever seen! Are they going to re-release the original Transformers cartoons from the 80's?
They are out of print and I have been holding off on buying them since I figured someday they would be released again on DVD.

This series was horrible. Bad stories, bad voice acting, lame animation. But my son frickin LOVED it... then again, he loves anything that bares "Transformers" brand name.

there's a good chance that they will be re-released in the near future. the company rights reverted back to someone and they listed a bunch of 80s animated series that are likely to get a first release or be re-released due to this and the Transformers is on that list, so just be patient.

I think that "someone" was Hasbro itself.

No original Japanese version included = not really "ultimate".
I wonder if they were so kind to include other audio languages such as Spanish, French and Portuguese, after all Transformers Cybertron is very popular worldwide, and every kind should be allowed to enjoy this show on their native language.
I will wait for the official release of the original Transformers

I just read on TVshowsonDVD that will only include English audio, too bad that Hasbro and Paramount never consider a global market when it comes to Transformers shows on DVD, even so Paramount could release it worldwide (not like Rhino with TF G1 DVDs) and as it's alledgely for All Regions, the lack of several languages will disappoint many, you can't expect kids to understand English when it's not their native language. I'm sure a lot of people living in Latin America, Europe and even Canada, would have appreciated having audio in Spanish, French, even Portuguese, so I'll pass on this one solely on that.
