YES! FINALLY!! This was my favorite show of 2010!! David Simon does it again! He went from Charm City to The Crescent City, without missing a beat!! I don't buy too many HBO shows right away at release, due to usual high prices, but I will make an exception in this case!!
They are shooting the second season now. Can't wait.
New Orleans will rise again!!!! Given time and the support of Americans and the world.

I've never seen this show, but how was Hurricane Katrina a "man-made" disaster? Does man have the power to control the weather in the world this show takes place in?

It is a reference to something in the show. One of the characters is convinced that it is a man-made disaster, and that the government is responsible for it because of an old levy that should have been fixed.
The Amazon synopsis is a bit more specific: "The New Orleans we see is a city barely starting to recover from what one character calls "a man-made catastrophe… of epic proportions and decades in the making.""
