Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced 1-disc DVD ($29.99), 2-disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo ($39.99), and 4-disc Blu-ray 3D and DVD Combo ($49.99) releases of Tron Legacy for April 5th. The only extra material on the 1-disc DVD will be 3 featuretes ("Visualizing TRON", "Installing the Cast", "First Look at TRON: Uprising - the Disney XD Animated Series"). The Blu-ray releases will include all that plus additional featurettes ("The Next Day: Flynn Lives Revealed", "Disney Second Screen - TRON: Legacy", "Launching the Legacy", "Disc Roars"), and a "Derezzed" music video by Daft Punk. The 4-disc Blu-ray release will also include a digital copy of the film.

Well at least the standard DVD isn't barebones.
In away it kind of sucks if you want to get the original Tron movie on Blu with Tron Legacy as you will have to breakdown and buy one with the Tron Legacy 3D version of the film. I guess though you could just buy the original Tron on Blu separately and buy the Tron Legacy on Blu that does not have the 3D version with it. I all in all though may end up getting the Ultimate Tron Experience edition as I really like the identity disc display and plus you get pretty much everything with it. I guess I could live with having a 3D copy of Tron Legacy even though it will be a very long time before I even think about buying a 3D HDTV. Who knows 3D Blu-ray may not live up to all its hype. I sure as hell don't see much hype for the 3D except maybe at theaters.
